FAQs - Playstation2 (US) - DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution
DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution was the first PS2 DDR game to hit the US shores. This game was the first home version released worldwide to feature Oni courses, and also marked the return of licensed music.

Unlockable Songs
Similarly with Konamix, you can unlock most of the songs in DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution by simply playing through the game. The frequency of unlocking songs decreases as time goes on, however. DDRMAX also includes "speed unlocks", or ways to unlock a song without actually meeting the songcount requirement. If you unlock a song using this method, it won't reduce the amount of songs needed to unlock the next song in series, however. Some songs have no songcount unlock, and so you must meet the speed unlock requirements to unlock them.

Oni Courses
DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution comes with three Oni courses unlocked from the start. Three more are available, but in order to unlock them, you must unlock some of the songs they contain and clear the preceding courses successfully.
