The first mix for the Xbox featured an impressive turnout of licenses and the first ever Internet functionality for DDR. It is also notable as the first in a series of Xbox DDR games, none of which would ever be released in Japan, and is also the first DDR game to feature game modes involving more than two players.

Challenge Mode

• Song: the name of the song that will be played for this challenge.
• Difficulty: the difficulty level of the song in the challenge.
• Portion: if this is a range of numbers, the range describes which measures of the song will be played for the challenge; if it says "All", then the whole song will be played.
• Description: a summary of the conditions that must be fulfilled to pass the challenge.

Sweet Sweet ♥ Magic  Standard 1-56 Clear the song with a maximum of one non-combo step. The audio will not be synced with the steps. Overblast!!  Standard All Clear the song while keeping the dance gauge under 50% at all times. exotic ethnic  Standard 7-30 Clear the song ending with the dance gauge at 15% or less.

The dance gauge will not refill, and you must not exceed a combo of 9. DIVE  Heavy 4-12 Clear the song with a full combo. The song will be played at 50% of normal speed. ORION .78 (civilization mix)  Heavy All Clear the song with all Goods or better. Do not step on the or arrows. Colors (for EXTREME)  Heavy All Clear the song without stepping on two identical consecutive steps. For example, if a is followed by another , step on one or the other, but not both. Jumps and single steps are considered different, even if one of the arrows from the jump matches the step.

TRIP MACHINE (luv mix)  Heavy All Clear the song with a full combo consisting of 90% or more Perfects. Healing Vision (Angelic mix)  Heavy 63-67 Clear the song on Sudden with a perfect combo.

Xbox LIVE

*The Ultramix manual refers to Edit Data trading over Xbox LIVE on Page 19 of the instruction manual, but this feature was not completed when Ultramix was released for duplication, and therefore is unavailable.

**The licensed content in Ultramix was licensed only for use in the United States, so unfortunately, Ultramix was not licensed for release anywhere outside of the US, namely Mexico and Canada. While many shops in both nations specialize in importing US goods to circumvent this limitation, Xbox Live is a different matter entirely - DDR players outside of the US can play Ultramix on their North American Xboxes, but they are not allowed to access Downloadable Content for the game, as the game is not supposed to be sold outside of the US to begin with.
