FAQs - Playstation2 (US) - DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution The Revolution continued in 2003 with the release of DDRMAX2 in the United States. DDRMAX2 marked the return of Nonstop Mode and introduced players to Endless Mode. DDRMAX2 also featured DDR Extreme's updated Beginner Mode, allowing novice players to enjoy the game without having to worry about their proficiency. Game Modes
Unlockable Songs DDRMAX2's unlock system is nearly identical to that of the arcade version of DDRMAX2. Points are scored by playing songs. After earning a set number of points, an item is unlocked and the counter is returned to zero. Having two players earn points will help you unlock the game twice as quickly. Point requirements are not as stringent as that of the arcade, requiring only a good-faith effort to play a song in order to earn a point. Furthermore, the point totals are vastly lowered. One item is unlocked for every 5 points you earn. Once you reach item #30, feeling of love, future unlocks will require 10 points.
Nonstop Courses DDRMAX2 brought Nonstop courses back in a similar style to their presentation in the arcade version of DDR Extreme. Two difficulty levels are available - Normal and Difficult. In Difficult, all of the step levels are bumped up a notch (eg. all Standard Songs become Heavy). Unlike Extreme AC's Nonstop courses which are always four songs in length, the courses in DDRMAX2 are of variable length. You can also create three of your own custom courses.
