No, he's saying that people that do nothing but complain about the new mixes and go on and on about how they won't buy the game because of the lack of Oni should realize just how lucky they are to get what they're getting.
DDR 1.0 had 9 songs. I didn't complain--it was damn fun. The new MAX2 USA for PS2 has a hell of a lot more songs than that, it's easy to select new modes, hell, it has Maniac mode, even.. (1.0 didn't), the colors are vivid by default to make it easier to read, and there are all these wonderful mods that we can play with. Sounds like a damn good mix to me. |

Grammar is spelled like this.
Sentence is spelled like this.
His grammar is as bad as your spelling.

Wow. This topic is really bothering me. I started playing DDR about a year and a half, almost two years ago and I played on the crapy 3rd and 4th mixes. Yet, it was the best thing I had EVER played or done in my life. The original poster was NOT saying he was better than everyone, just because he started long ago, like me, on the crappy mixes. He WAS saying that he is tired of hearing all the newer DDR players complain about the new DDR mixes. I know EXACTLY what he is saying. I thought that Max2 was like the coolest thing to happen to DDR, but I'm hearing all over DDR Freak people complaining about it. Jeeeez, just stop it already. Be happy for what you got, and that Bemani is even making DDR releases for the US. "Back in the day" we had to get all our crap from the internet, and imported from Japan. So just everyone, please, stop whinning, stop fighting. No one is saying that they are better than the next because we've played longer, or didn't use mods, ect. We all love the same thing: DDR. Lets stop focusing on all the negative and just get over it.

Why is this thread spawning so much drama? I personally appreciate old school DDR veterans. If they hadn't made DDR so successful, there would be no amazing new mixers to pamper newcomers. I've only been playing for a month and a half so I clearly qualify as a newcomer. I understand bitterness towards new players, as new machines are almost certainly more accurate and better designed. These days you can also go home and practice on specially designed lessons, while before if you wanted to get good you pumped in token after token, day after day. Granted, it still shouldn't be old vs. new. I think that's why extreme has old and new. The first time I ever played DDR was cuz we were playing a show at Gameworks and Dave told me they had Little doggy by the Specials. It's great that we can all get up there side by side and just have fun... and a big part of it is the old school hardcore fans who stuck with it. My hat goes off

Just to make something very clear:
I DO NOT have bitterness towards the newer DDR players.
I am NOT flaming.
I just think people on here took this post a bit wrong and missed the original posters message. I'm happy we have new DDR players; its great. Just STOP complaining! You all don't understand how very good you have it with the great new mixes and machines. Thats what this post was about in the first place. Not about us hating newcomers or thinking we're better or whatever, its just, be happy for what you got and appericate it.
And stop complaining already!

Yes, yes, this is all very true. No one ever said they WANTED it to be the old way. JEZZZZZ...No really, did ANY of you get the message at all in this post, I mean really!? Yeah, I'm getting tired of hearing people diss on Max 2, it's an AMAZING mix! All the guy was saying was to appericate it. Why am I even bothering? If you didn't get it then, you don't get it now.
