So, this is an odd topic. Mods, please move if necessary; I thought this the best subforum in which to post.
My name is Jason Wishnov, and I'm some indie developer guy. I've been working on a title for the Indie Games channel on the Xbox 360 for some time now. It is (at the moment) entitled Sequence, a combination rhythm game and RPG. I have a ever-so-slightly out-of-date trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEg0GXdoPDs (Be careful! It's oddly loud for some reason.)
Anyway, I'm inching closer and closer to release. I've licensed eight songs from Ronald Jenkees, who is totally freaking awesome, but as I've recently discovered: making steps is HARD. And not only is it hard, I suck at it. So I thought I'd come here, to ask for help.
I will not disguise what I am asking. I'm asking for stepcharts, and I'm asking for them for free. I'd love to pay everyone, but the music and art alone are already putting me way, way over-budget. Your names (whether real or by handle), however, will be featured prominently in the credit sequence, which I might add is not a regular credit sequence, but rather the voice actors of the game chatting and bantering hilariously about the names and positions appearing on-screen. And, of course, any satisfaction derived from seeing your steps in a commercial release. And, um, my eternal love and/or a free, delicious dinner if you live in/visit the Los Angeles region.
So, if anyone is game, here's how it works. Eight songs (in a .zip) by Ronald Jenkees have been posted here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3299208/ModdedMusic.zip One person to a song, I suppose. While I technically need four difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard, expert), this is QUITE a bit of work; I completely understand if you only want to do expert. The other three difficulty levels would be easier to create by removing steps from/editing the expert file, I think. If you'd like to claim a song as your own, please post in this thread with the claim. Here are the stats of the songs:
Super-Fun | Length: 2 minutes, 15 seconds | BPM: 140
Loui | Length: 2 minutes, 18 seconds | BPM: 191
Outer Space | Length: 2 minutes, 31 seconds | BPM: 234
Derty | Length: 2 minutes, 43 seconds | BPM: 191
Stay Crunchy | Length: 3 minutes, 23 seconds | BPM: 140
Disorganized Fun | Length: 3 minutes, 59 seconds | BPM: 196 - TAKEN (Rizlim)
Guitar Sound | Length: 4 minutes, 34 seconds | BPM: 200
Throwing Fire | Length: 4 minutes, 52 seconds | BPM: 105 (210?)
Note 1: Throwing Fire was listed at 105 BPM, but if this is too slow, I suppose it could be doubled.
Note 2: Throwing Fire is the longest song, but if you choose it, know that it is the MOST AWESOME song.
Also, if you like the music, please support Ronald Jenkees! His music (including extended cuts of these eight songs) is available for sale on iTunes and his official website at www.ronaldjenkees.com.
Anyway, thanks for listening. I hope to hear back from some of you soon! |
