|
|
I recently bought 2 dance pads (http://www.futuremax.nl/product_info.php?products_id=619). They function fine on my Windows XP computer (specs P3 950 Mhz, 256 mb RAM, 128 mb videocard with a 15" monitor) but i cannot get the dance pads to work on my Windows Vista computer (specs 4x2.66 mhz, 4 gyg mb ram, 2x512 mb 9600GT(X) on SLI with a 28" monitor). Im running Windows Vista Home Premium edition and im wondering whether I can get drivers for the pads. My windows vista is registered (unlike my winxp), so im really into keeping my windows vista computer vista.
I have checked for Virtual PC and programs alike but my friend commented: "If you run programs like virtual pc, windows vista has to recognise the USB connection otherwise it can't forward it to the windows xp virtual computer". Which seems to be kinda logic for i get 'Unknown Device' when I connect the dance pad.
My windows xp computer recognises the dance pad with 'RedOctane USB <something>'. Anyone knows where I can find drivers or has any other solution to get it to work on my windows vista computer?
(if its important im using Stepmania as a game) |

In the device manager, the game controller settings do not show up. It seems to be just an unknown device in the USB port. |

Hi svleur,
I don't have Vista, still running XP Pro, but I did do a quick search for you and I found this on the ddrgame site of all places:
http://www.ddrgame.com/faq.html#pcconfig It's on their faq page
Quote: | If you are using the PC dance pad along with the Super Dual Box USB adapter on a Windows Vista operating system, you will need to install the Vista compatible driver as well. You can download it HERE on our web site. |
And if you click the HERE you'll get a file download pop-up box - dualusbvista.exe
Found this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MHMW5LFD , which is
Quote: | Filename: USB GAME CONTROLLER SETUP.EXEFilesize: 1.36 MBDescription: PS to PC Converter Driver for Playstation controllers and dance mats |
on a stepmania forum which looked promising, but I can't seem to be able to find an actual d/l link, see if you find anything.
Found a d/l page (as well as your actual pad) on Mayflash's site (the maker of your pad) here:
http://www.mayflash.com/Download.htm
Which driver it is? I have NO idea.
Now, whether this will help or not I can't say. If you're running 32bit you should be able to find drivers. 64bit? IDK, didn't see anything helpful for that.
Weird, that on the futuremax product page it says no drivers needed (same on Mayflash site). If push comes to shove, maybe try contacting futuremax and seeing if they have any ideas?
Sorry if none of the above helps ... I tried! _________________

Im using the windows vista 64 bit version.
I have installed the drivers my system still doesn't recognise the device (same error). I also checked out the extra site which brought me to super joybox drivers (mainly others were for wii). Super joybox is a box were u can plug your playstation joysticks in and it converts a few of them to USB or something.
I don't know if I should use one of those PS to PC drivers for my dance pad already has a USB next to the PS connector. Which I think is to make it compatible directly to USB.

Futuremax doesn't really respond on any emails. I guess I should write them a formal letter |

..you'll need to find 64 bit drivers for the device. That's why I never went to 64bit Windows, it's a pain in the buttocks for little performance
32bit drivers will not work on your machine, so unless you're willing to 'downgrade' to 32bit (should be a version on your vista disc...) you may just want to set up a dual-boot on your good system with an OS that has the available drivers. |
