With the R16 patch you can't play custom songs that meet the requirements and are under the allowed time (or equal to)?

No. You can't play custom songs at all unless you have R21 or higher. And even then, they have to be activated in the operator's menu.

Having R23 would be dumb. The arcade would lose money if there was any competition at all.

It would detract all the hardcore ITG players from going to the location.

If my arcade got R23, I would and about 10 other ITGers would switch to another arcade that has R21.

So yes, R23 would make you lose money in most circumstances.
Yeah, you really would lose money both ways, I never thought about it that way. I was thinking of it more like playing ITG and ITG2 songs (like we had no problem with doing before R21...and playing the occasional custom song every now and then.)

Since when did you ask? E15.gif Anyway yeah, that would be a good idea actually...forget what I said about R23, haha.

Funny thing is, dancing games can really only bring in a set profit an hour.

If you can't play a long song, then why enable the option to turn the timer off?

Probably could play a 6 minute song with all the time people use on the menu.

Tell the people with the R16 to upgrade it to R21.

R21 is less well synced than R16 (which is dead-on).

I just edited the steps to Monolith and saved them, so does it automatically save it to your USB flash drive? And just like Birdie it erased the original steps and replaced them with mine, why is this? For Birdie (Expert) I did regular edit mode, and for Monolith (Expert) I did full edit mode. But both ways erased the original steps. Now can I take my USB to the arcade and play my custom steps, or like DDR do I have to link, blah blah?!

And I just checked my USB and it has a In The Groove 2 folder and within that is an edit folder but there are no edits, why?

First of all, your edits need to be in .edit format to work on ITG2.

http://itgfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11785

That thread on ITGFreak tells you how to convert .sm to .edit.

Oh ok, thanks. I got the edited songs in the edits folder but when I plugged the USB into the arcade it said, 'Card Mount Error'.

I don't want to put simfiles on my USB because our arcade machine is an R16. I just need to know how to save the edits to work properly on the arcade, because I kept getting the 'card mount error'.

That doesn't matter, it will just "ignore" the custom songs - I have R21 songs on my USB, and I play on an R16 machine on occasion too.

Hmm...not having edits saved properly would do this? I know pretty much absolutely nothing about edits, but I've heard that they have to be in the .edit format. Oh, and does your card work 100% fine without the edits? And lastly check if there's a little button/switch on the side. Try it both ways (on my USB it can be slid to the left and the right, and left works, and right get's the card mount error). I seriously doubt I'm making much sense here, but if you can make sense out of it great.

A card mount error is usually a hardware problem. It can be either a problem with the USB port or a power with your card's power supply. Does it work with other people's USB cards?

Yes they do. Idk about edits but as far as saving goes, yes.

Then it's probably your card's power supply crapping out on you.
