Grr! So here is my problem... See, I wanted to get started on DDR.... So I bought Mario Mix because I only have a gamecube. Well it was cool for a while, until I got too good and Mario Mix was too easy. I want to play a trickier version, which I know is all of them. However, Mario Mix is the only version for the gamecube and it is so boring now. I would go out and buy a PS2 and SuperNova in a hearbeat if I had the money but I don't and I'm saving up for the Wii. I really want to get better but it won't happen unless I get a new version. I can't go to arcades because I'm miles and miles away from a DDR machine. I have no clue what do...

Here is my one option: buy a DDR for the Xbox and borrow the Xbox from a friend. The problem with that is I am moving in a month so you know... my DDR would rot after that. GRRRRRRR!!! Any suggestions or am I screwed for now?

Play in the arcade or get a PS2 and DDR Supernova. That or a metal pad and stepmania.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Yea, get Stepmania. Just buy a convertor for your pad and you can play any song you want for free.

or, you could get a PS1 and konamix. Then once konamix gets old, mod the PS1 and get japanese PS1 mixes.

Well, I already have a PS1 so that sounds good. But how hard would it be to find a pad for the PS1? Did they even make pads for the PS1?

PS2 pads work with PS1 too. Go for the RedOctane softpad. $25.

How's the quality? I was thinking of the Gamestop pad for $20. I haven't tried either of them.

The Red Octane softpad is probably the best and most durable softpad available. The ones at game stores are usually crappy Mad Catz pads. Ordering off Red Octanes official site is the way to go. E10.gif

No, actually the official Gamestop pad works amazingly. It doesn't slip at all and has been playing perfectly since my friend got it (July) and he only plays Expert/Heavy.

Now I think this should be moved to Bemani Controllers.
