|
|
I don't have a CF as you all know, but I want one sometime. The arcade style modkit looks nice, but I like six panel mode. So I wanted to know, if I get the arcade style modkit and only put on three of the six metal thingies (so the upleft/X and upright/O panels aren't covored), will the middle one be loose? Alright, thanks. |

You mean 3 of the 5?
Every panel has a screw in each corner, so no, the center wouldn't be loose. You could just put the whole mod kit on, though. The raised buttons aren't that much harder to press than the normal ones.
Or you could just leave off the mod kit entirely. _________________

Oh, thanks.
I didn't know that it put a sheet of metal on the sensor. I thought it just covored it up or something. I don't know anything about the CF, I've never even seen one up close.
Anyway, thanks for helping out. I think I will be getting the arcade modkit. Now just one more question, what kind should I get when I have a CF? The clear and smooth one, or the black one? What does the clear and smooth one look like? |

I never heard a squeaky noise with my clear mod kit. Could it be because you didn't take off the protective film? _________________

Thanks a whole lot NESCartFanatic. That was very helpful.
I think I might go with the clear one when I have my CF. I will leave the other two panels off though. It would feel ackward to have to step up a little bit to hit X and O for six panel.
You've both been very helpful, thanks. |

I play 6 panel with my flux and I have the clear mod kit, it really doesn't bother me at all.
besides, if you buy a flux along with a clear mod kit, when it arrives it'll already be preinstalled for you, so just try it like that first, then if you decide to take the lexans off then go ahead...imo you should just keep them on since it doesn't really make that much of a difference. |

Nope, I didn't have the noise until I took off the film. Then the panels stuck together right in the middle and made the most god awful sound! Fixed the problem though, haven't had one thing go wrong with my pad. Love the thing to death! _________________

I'll get it with the clear mod kit, then take off the two lexan thingies. Just to make it a tiiiiiny bit more like the Solo pad. |
