ITG players... a little too dependent on speed mods?

I used to be a hardcore "no mods, no bar, no matter what" player, but that was before I started playing ITG. I got pretty good at playing 1x; I could A songs like Witch Doctor and bag at 1x. I even AAed So Deep at 1x no bar.

Then I started playing ITG. Yes, I would definitely agree with most people here that speed mods are a lot more crucial to ITG than it was in DDR. While I'm not completely dependent on them, it's harder to play without them. I played Hillbilly Hardcore Expert at 1x once to prove to a friend that I didn't have to play with speed mods. I passed, but it was a much worse score than I would normally get. Similarly, I played VerTex Expert with no bar to prove to that same friend that I could do it. Ironically, I received a higher score, but I was so exhausted that I couldn't play much more than that.

So yeah, play with or without the bar or speed mods however you wish. It's your money, and it's your play, so decide for yourself how you want to play.

ITG2 is set to 1.5x HALLWAY, which is slower than 1.5x overhead.

besides, DDR/ITG isn't meant to be played with/without mods, it's really meant to be played in general. if you're comfortable to read it at 1x, good for you, but that doesn't mean that you can bash ppl who use speed mods, and you cannot accuse them of cheating.
