...Because the challenge difficulty is automatically highlighted?

Think before you post. And learn to spell.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

That depends. Song's that only have ONI steps are automatically highligted (i.e. B4U B4 Za Beat mix, Knd Lady Interlude, etc.) BUT, songs that have regular steps (Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy) AND ONI steps dont automatically switch to the ONI steps, they will stay in the difficulty you currently have them on.

NEwayz, to answer te original question. If yo want to know if a song has ony steps just go to Heavy mode, find a song you want, and tap o the back arrow twice. This should change the stepos to ONI if the song you highighted AVE ONI steps. If they dont, then they will just tay on Heavy.

Or better yet, go up to Random, step on the down arrow twice, assuming you were on Heavy, otherwise keep hitting down till it does go to ONI. The Heavy icon will switch to the ONI icon. now scroll down through the songs. Watch as it goes to Heavy when you stop on Graduation, keep scrolling down, as you scroll further down the song list sometimes it goes back to ONI like when you stop on Butterfly, since Buttterfly has ONI steps, the machine will go back to ONI.

If you go up, The Legeond of Max will show Heavy, if you go one more Paranoia Survivor Max will show ONI, after that Paranoia Survivor will show Heavy, next Dance Dance Revolution will show ONI. If you step on the up arrow twice on Dance Dance Revolution it will show that it also has Heavy steps, going back down to Paranoia Survivor Max it will also show Heavy.

If you do the Random trick, Step on the down arrow to get to ONI, hit start, the machine will give you any song that has ONI steps for it, so you might get Butterfly or worse PSMO!
