At first I thought you meant that they were inferior to Pump, then I saw that you don't post in the thread. DO you mean they are inferior to Stepmania? If so... *sigh*.

I don't agree with that...
I do dance games primarily for for the fun of dancing, not for trying to get insane scores on insanely difficult steps, but I still prefer ITG to DDR. Although I acknowledge DDR's larger song list with more variety than ITG's (ITG2 helps to narrow the gap quite a bit) and a ton of memorable stepcharts with a lot of personality, ITG has a much cleaner, better, crisper interface, a lot more features, graphics that are ten times better, better sound quality, nicer-looking (more informative) arrows, a more professional look, and a ton of fun lighthearted songs like Mellow, The Game, No Princess (ITG2), Little Kitty Mine (ITG2), etc etc etc, plus several classical remixes (Tell, Driving Force Classical, Vorsprung Durch Techno [ITG2]) that I'm a big fan of. Many of the stepcharts do have unique, fun personality, you just have to look around a little bit to find them.
One of the biggest factors for me is that ITG doesn't look like an 8-bit Nintendo game.
You also have to consider that the ITG2 dedicated cabinet is simply a much much much better machine than the aging DDR cabinets, many of which are on their last legs and don't have too many more years of use left in them. When those DDR cabinets are gone, they're gone forever, but ITG2 cabinets are still being made and hopefully will be for many years to come.

| I'm not comparing them to Pump, Stepmania, or anything else. I'm saying that they're both mediocre games with mediocre stepcharts, and some terrible ones too. |

beatmania, specifically IIDX, is by far a superior beat/rhythm game. but thats a whole 'nother can o' worms.

I agree, from what little I have seen of it.
Playing a musical instrument is the most superior rythm/music game, and also the hardest.
Why are we discussing this again?
