I read his post wrong. I thought they meant if the ITG1 boxors will be price cut at all.

Hmmm... maybe it's just me, but from what I'm reading, the version here is actually a bit behind the Beta upgrade we've had out here at The Break for a while. The only stuff that seems to be of any problem is that a few songs were lacking Doubles steps (Baby Don't You Want Me, High, and one other that I forget... and that was being taken care of this weekend apprently), and the USB load/save time is SIGNIFICANTLY longer. I think I timed the loading screen at about 12-13 seconds.

Now our machine isn't a new cabinet... it's an upgrade from ITG1, so we don't have the new button setups or anything like that. I have noticed missing graphics, but nothing major. The only two times I think there's any graphics missing are on the results screen then it tells you what to press for a screenshot, and on the credits screen between/before a number of names. I think it's just a case of them not having decided yet what to use as a separator.

As for the game itself, here's what I've seen so far:

- The % of Kyle's music in the in new music as opposed to the ITG1 stuff is significantly less. HOWEVER, the music that IS in there from him is quite impressive. Tribal Style, Incognito, and Twilight all seem to be some of the top songs.

- There's a lot of "fun" things to discover so far. A lot of people seem to be focusing on 11s, 12s, and 13s, but there's a lot of fun out there with the 9s and 10s even. Fleadh Uncut Expert is a 9 and one of the most popular songs because of its step patterns. D-Code Expert looks like one of the most fun 10s around that most people won't think about playing. Sweet World Expert tends to be something that people either love or hate. And there's a lot more originality in the doubles steps in ITG2. Some of the jumping, people have referred to as being like Pump, while I think it reminds me of some stuff I saw in Disney Mix (Down-Down jump anyone?). A number of the crossovers are different as well. They'll resolve themselves, but sometimes they don't follow the normal contiguity of DDR crossovers (Up or Down, then each of the 2 centers, then the other Up or Down. Stuff like Holic Heavy Doubles is just two of these overlaid.) And a number of sets of steps are just simply QUITE different. One of the 10s on Doubles has < 5 each of Jumps, Mines, Hands, and Holds, and < 350 total steps. And trust me, it's a 10... and it's FUN. There also seems to be bit more use of hands in doubles in ITG2. Some of the uses of them are quite intriguing (Spin Chicken), some are somewhat intimidating (Bloodrush, I think?).

- The marathons are just nasty. I've passed all the marathons on ITG1 on Doubles Normal, and a few on Intense. I'm familiar with reading crazy shifting mods. Some of these new courses just crush me. The Brake section on Ize Pie in "Chill Out", Clockwork Genesis's CenteredCross in "Automation", and then the laundry list of mods in Wildside on Tribal Style (Expand, Wave, Space, Reverse, and a couple others). There's also a lot more use of percentage mods in the courses, it seems. 30-50% of some mods is enough to really mess with people.

- Survival is wicked. Have fun FAing your brains out, because that's the only way you'll stay around for the full length of all 4 songs. It really turns out to be one heck of a good challenge, though.

- The difficulties in a number of cases are a little harder. I used to say that for an ITG song on Hard, if you subtract 1 from it, you get the DDR difficulty. That doesn't always hold true now. Some of the 7s and 8s are hard yet challenging.

- The usage of mines seems to be a bit better in this, partly for the visual effect, partly for the additional difficulty. Sometimes in ITG1, they just seemed a little haphazard or they would be a line of them horizontally. Now you get a few things like the jumps in D-Code or the hands in One False Move.

I can't remember much else off the top of my head currently, but that might be because I'm exhausted. I'll probably head to The Break tomorrow to play/review some more. Hope I've been a bit helpful.

How about telling me what format ITG2 saves on your drive, please? >=D

Does it make a new folder or not?

It pulls all of your ITG1 data on load, just score legacy scoring reasons. It then creates an In The Groove 2 folder, copies over your DontShare.sig, and creates IT'S OWN ITG2.
ITG2 DOES NOT COPY YOUR ITG1 STATS FILE INTO THE ITG2 STATS FILE. However, the ITG2 stats file WILL CONTAIN SCORES OF ITG1 SONGS PLAYED ON ITG2. (<-- I kinda don't like that personally, but *eh*.)
Confused yet?
Good, let's keep going.

Screenshots start from 0000 again, and other than that, it's pretty much all the same.
Thanks goes to WBR for giving me his 8otb beta stats data, I already pointed out something to C. Danford and he changed it E1.gif.

Any more questions?

Yeah, I am quite confused. I sort of get it though.

I just have a question. Is there a limit on how many screen shots you can take? I have saved quite a lot from ITG1, but some of them don't show up in my stats.xml file. I thought all of the screenshots show up there.

How does stats.xml look like? Is it still the same format? Does it still take quite some time for browsers to open it up?

All the screenshots should show up.
Would you be able to contact me sometime so I can look into it? I'm curious about that.

Stats.xml is largely the same format, there are some new 2nd level elements that were empty (self-closing), and some new 'GeneralData' properties, the empty elements were probably just because WBR hadn't played on those modes/songs/things yet.
Same format as far as file type (xml + xsl), and yes, it still takes time for browsers to open up.

Alright Jason; just give me an IM on AIM whenever.

Yeah, my .xml file takes quite some time for my browser to open it up. I have to open it up via Firefox's "Open File" because there's something wrong with my computer where it crashes if I try to open up folders (basically Windows Explorer). -_- Like my Firefox "doesn't respond" temporarily, and then it loads up. It takes forever to close that tab that I opened the .xml in and it sucks. Stupid slow messed up computer. :[
