IIDX 12th Style Revealed

Fresh from the not-an-April-Fool's-Day-joke department, Konami's website has new information about the in-progress location tests for the newest game in the IIDX series, beatmania IIDX 12 ~HAPPY SKY~. BMIIDX12 will feature a mind-blowing 350 songs and a new blue theme to contrast with IIDX 11 RED.

It should be noted that test location reports are indicating that "Toe Jam" by Big Idea from Ultramix 2 is included in IIDX12... very interesting crossover, indeed.

Too bad sacramento is never going to see this, I have not see 1 IIDX in sacramento since scandia, and they already got rid of it. It would be so cool if there was a DDR with all the IIDX songs in it...

350? Holy shit. That's awesome. Unfortunately there isn't a single place in Wisconsin (which is where I live) with IIDX, so I'll guarantee that in the event that someone DOES get IIDX, they're not going to shell out a ridiculous amount for this version... but I can still dream.

And they're changing the difficulty rating system from 1-8 stars to 1-12 stars. Presumably because everything was ranked 6, 7, or 8 in the old system. And they've also finally decided to give difficulty ratings to the anothers, which might explain why they needed 4 new stars.

I seriously think HAPPY SKY is an attempt by the Japanese to appeal to the female clientele. There's not many girls that play IIDX though.
