When I mentioned the song title to a friend, he automatically thought it was about a car. Is this true? And does any one know the lyrics?

If I remember right, because this came up in a Thomas Howard interview I heard a while back... It is. It was originally supposed to be "Heaven is a 57' Chevrolet", but for trademark reasons, Thomas Howard had to change the words around a little bit.

On DMX the banner is a number of convertibles stacked, so even though I never really paid attention to the lyrics I always thought it was about a favored car.

How I normally think of that song is the one with all the knee lifts....

My first guess on the song was a car, though I kinda think of "metallic gray" as being a rather boring color for a car from the '50s. Cars came in some crazy color combinations back then. But with lines like what guysitsRez posted as well as "with my tailfin bumper chrome I'm a lightning streak" and something about being a "turbo nitrous freak" in the full version of the song, I think it's definitely about a car nonetheless.

Well...when I saw the song first I figured it was pretty obvious it was about a car...and the lyrics pretty much give it away. It's still a great song either way

I figure it's about a metallic grey '57 Chevy. Could be wrong, but the thought of one sounds pretty good... that and a Zoot Suit.
