I've always thought it to be Sah-koo-rah

I was sternly lectured that Tsugaru=Soo-Guh-Roo sounds too much like Subaru (the car) and they thought it was "soo-GAA(long a)-roo

As for Dam Dariram, I just say it like the singer does.

Its Su-Ga-ru , just like subaru, same pronounciation jsut different characters.

I hate that pronunciation of Sakura, but that is the way the majority of English speakers pronounce it.

In case you care...

- Sakura (Sah-Koo-Rah)
- Tsugaru (Tsoo-Gah-Roo) or (Soo-Gah-Roo)
- Yozora no Mukou (Yo-Zoh-Rah-No-Moo-Koh)

Also, in case you care...the song is Daikenkai.

- Daikenkai (Dye-Ken-Kye) (Die-Ken-Kye)

Sakura = SAH-koo-rah
Tsugaru = SUE-gah-roo
Gamelan de Couple - GAM (like bam)-eh-lawn day Couple (I think the Couple was meant to be in English, not Spanish)
Daikenkai = DIE Ken Kye
DXY! = DEE ECKS WHY
A = pronounced like the letter when you recite your ABCs.
L'amour et la Liberte = LAH-more eh la li-BEAR-tay
Mahou no Tobira = MA-hoe no to-BEER-ah
Matsuri Japan = mott-SIR-ee juh-PAN
Yozora no Mukou = yo-ZORE-uh no MOO-ko
17 (the song on 5th mix by Bambee) = 17 Sai
Dam Dariram = Dahm dah-ree-ROHM
Xenon = ZEE-non
Orion.78 = oh-RY-an seventy-eight
WWW.blonde girl = blondie girl (the www. makes it all long and stupid laugh.gif)

Viewtiful Joe: Centre = the british spelling for Center. So it should really be pronounced "The Center of the Heart", just like it is in regular conversational english.

Now, someone who speaks Japanese, please enlighten me as to how to say "Aoi Shoudou" and "Ninzaburo" correctly. are "ahh-OY SHO-doo" and "NIN-za-bu-ro" remotely close? Oh, and Odoru Pompolokin too.

Really? I always thought it was pronounced "Sah-koo-rah". That's how I say it, anyway.

My friend who watches me play thought Daikenkai was pronounced "Dah-kinky" laugh.gif

"R" in Japanese is pronounced like "L" in English.
So sakura's prononciation is more close to "Sah-koo-lah". And in the same way, "ru" in "tsugaru" sounds like "loo". "Ri" in "matsuri" sounds like "lee". And "ra" in "tobira" sounds like "Lah".

Japanese R's are not exactly like English L's. They're kind of in between R's and L's and D's. Ummmm...yeah I don't really know how to explain it without linguistic terminology.

Ive never heard of them as being in between Ds also. My Japanese teacher just told us combine the R and L sound.

Mahou no Tobira = Ma-Hoe No Toe-Bee-Rah
Matsuri Japan = Ma-Tsoo-Ree Japan, I am sure you can pronounce Japan

Aoi Shoudou is a little more difficult, because Aoi can be difficult to say, at least describing it is tough.

Ah-Oh-E (E sound) Show-Dough (Weird I guess, but it works)

As for Odoru Pompolokin, I am not going to bother putting Pompolokin into phonetics, but Odoru is Oh-Doe-Roo.

I won't really comment on Japanese R's too much besides they are supposed to sound like a mix between D, R and L. However, the sound can vary from one Japanese person to another.

L'amour et la Liberte = LAH-moore eh la liberté(French!)
Xenon = Xen-on

how I say those

I allways thought it was L'amour EST la liberté riiight.gif "est" = is, but it's "Love and freedom"

Because here in Yokohama, people (the native Japanese that hang around the station/nearby arcades) tend to pronounce it "Dixie" as in "Dixie cup" or "Deep in the heart of Dixie". (DIK SEE)

Odoru Pompokolin""""

(I guess you can get the odoru))(THis is a captain jack song BTW and the lyrics are sung in actual ENGLISH, yes, it is english. It sounded like engrish or some wierd language at first to me, but it is in fact English, its just the lyrics dont make sense....."Belly buttons peeking out?")

Pohm-poh-kohl-En (the E in there sounds like saying the letter E, and the poh is a real quick sound.
