I'v herd of people in Asia bootleggig mixes that dont exist, like "Megamix, or 9th Mix"

Does anyone know how this is done? I thinking it would be cool to make custome mix's with your own songs that you can load on a DDR Arcade Machine

I've heard that Stepmania can convert into arcade format yet this is Illegal as you would make money off of it and you'd have to use Konami's machines.

There is talk about this in the arcade forum, specifically about that "Megamix" thing.

Yeah, there have been talks of making a "stepmania machine" using a ddr cabinet. It'd work, very easily actually. Just too bad it wouldn't be legal. And yes, there is a program floating around that can create step charts/edits on your PC and convert them to the proper format that can be used on a DDR machine via the memory card slots. (keeping in mind you need a dex drive to transfer from your PC to Memory card as well as the link data)

Well if you take the pad as an input and just use your computer inside the machine, all you'd have to do is figure out how to connect the pad to your computer and output it to the screen... easy SM machine.

As far as making your own edit data, I have that program... I made BMR V steps months before Extreme CS came out (and beat them E1.gif). I wouldn't think that was bad (like hacking and selling your own mix), though...

What would you use for the coin mechnism? Is there a coin slot that is available to buy that registers with the serial/parallel/usb etc ports on a pc. or is there any way to manufacture this???
If this problem were solved, a real SM machine would be a possibility
(btw I am not condoning doing this, I'm just interested in how feasable it would be to make - It would be very cool to set this up at home with a custom made cabinet)
