Lately, when i have visited my arcade, i don't have the DDR fire i used to. i just feel like its not fun anymore. I've thought about retirement, but then a big part of my life would be gone. I would feel like there would be a big hole. I guess my question is, have any of you ever felt this before, and if so, what was the outcome? _________________

I just take a vacation from it for a month or two, then when I come back it all feels brand new again and I love it even more than I did before. _________________

I feel like that a lot lately. I'm the only one left in town who plays DDR regularly. I used to drive 40 miles every week at least just to play. Now, there are days I can't even be bothered to pull into the parking lot downtown now that we got it.
The "hole" you describe was probably what was removed from your life when DDR took over. Find out what that was, and put it back.

| I feel like this constantly. But then I just watch a video of something like JSB sdging legend of max standing up and all the sudden I'm ready to play again. |

I just went from playing 15-20 hours a week to playing 2-3 hours a month. Works fine. _________________

yeah, i lost interest in ddr. i used to play like mad for the first 6 months. i met some "ddr friends" but it's weird when you're only common interest is ddr. i'd spend my weekends playing ddr with ddr people but that got old fast. also, i was never good enough to place in tournaments so i avoided most of them.
now, i'll play sparingly when it's convenient like i'll do a quick game when i happen to be at an arcade at the movies or the beach.
but i guess my interest isn't completely dead yet since i do play at least once a month and post on this board every once in a while. |

No I'm not tired of DDR. In fact, it seems like every time I play Extreme, I find a song I didn't know was there. Like the last time. I found Drop Out from Nonstop Megemix and Burnin' the Floor Blue Fire Mix. For now, no. _________________

When all we had was EM2, AAing max300 for the umpteenth time made me lose quite a lot of interest, so i moved onto light/standard mode PA. Still no AAAs yet though but now we have a fair few extremes in england so theres plenty of new challenges ahead n_n _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

well like everything else when you do something over and over again...things tend to get old. Eventually, you'll have to move on. Probably the only thing keeping my DDR flare alive is the crowd because the place that I play at....usually draws a huge crowd...
but that's about it. Other than that, my DDR fire isnt there like it used to be.
But on the other hand...I'm learning some new things about DDR that I havent ever learned about myself. _________________

I've been playing for 1 year and 1 month and I can still honestly say that I'm not tired of DDR. Most of the time I just play 10- footers a bunch of timea for a good workout. But I often play because I like to listen to the music. I still go to the arcade 1-2 times a week unless I have a vacation from school. Then I go 4-5 times. That hasn't changed since DAY ONE on the 5th mix (which is now replaced w/ Extreme ) |

ddr will never get boring to me. always coming out with new songs to master, new oni's to play, there's both single and doubles, there's shuffle, there's the strive to AA then AAA every song, there's the workout factor, i mean..whats there to get bored of? i doubt there's a person alive that's completely mastered both singles and doubles always playing with shuffle or stealth and get 100% on every oni. you'll never be the perfect DDR player, and that'll keep me going forever _________________

i will never be bored of ddr until i become the best in the world, which isnt anytime soon, but once i become the best in the world then there might be a slight possibilty that i would get bored, but for now its all about getting better |

Same with me...
But see, I don't get to play that often, so when I do get a chance to play, I'm not very good. And I really don't like to do things I'm not good at, so sometimes that disappoints me.
But then I see newbies play and nearly fail Sexy Planet on light and it makes me feel better about myself (not to make fun of newbies, of course) I'm just saying it reminds me how far I've come and that I can do it, if I really try.
So I guess for me it's really the opposite of that, but still same idea... _________________
