Those may not qualify as punk but.....that's kinda close and mainstream rock...

My point, most of those songs suck.

Why does everyone diss on Crash? It's a great song! E4.gif

DDR does need to branch out into more genres though, maybe some deep trance or happy hardcore(high BPMs!), then maybe transition into more traditional music genres. I don't think punk would work so well... but I agree that metal would be good.

I'm probably the only person in CT who likes that song at all!

1)it not just j-pop, listen to other music from around the world. i fine them better cause they sound better and "different", not generic and one dimensional like some of the americian mainstream music of today.

2)you do know japan has a deal with Toshiba-EMI's Dancemania series, right? is Shit Charolette(sp) signed to EMI? no. end of story...

P.S. sorry if i sound rude, but seriously, open your mind to other music styles. your missing out on a lot of good music, trust me...

I agree. I like rock, but you don't DANCE to it..... everything on DDR needs to be dance-able....

I'm thinking Konami should create a new super-cool big screen cabinet, with much more animated menus and stuff, and better backgrounds.... preferably from the same people that make IIDX's backgrounds. :-P

I think DDR just needs some new songs, and A LOT of pizzaz and eye-candy.

Also, I have an idea for an awesome battle-type mode. I'm sure many of you have thought of the same thing. You could have Versus like now, and then also a "Battle" mode, that acts like Puyo Puyo with modifiers. Each person selects a character (bringing back the characters = awesome), and each character has different modifiers that they randomly use on the other player when their player gets a certain number combo or something. And during the song, instead of the announcer, we could hear the characters smack-talking each other in cheesy voices. So basically the guy playing as Afro gets a 100 combo, so Afro goes "girl, you ain't got soul!" and attacks the person playing as Emi with a 0.5x speed code that immediatly goes into effect. (After playing some cool, goofy, quick sound effect to signal the code.) Then the person playing as Emi gets a 150 combo and Emi says "Hai! Douzo!" and attacks Afro with hidden+dark..... the codes go away after a little bit of time, and the process continues... whoever has the highest score at the end wins and unlocks a new attack to use in the next round. The person that lost just gets the same attacks again.

Now, remember, all of this is taking place on a PIUDX-esque cabinet, with a much cooler IIDX-style background, and just generally a more "energetic" interface..... for example, you choose a game mode, and then the game goes into a cool little animation, maybe a quick zoom through a room to a screen where the song selection emerges.... I think it's little touches like this, along with big stuff like a new cabinet and Battle Mode, that could bring DDR back into full-swing.

I need to work at KoJ, damn it.

Yeah, I seem to feel like the only one who likes the song. It's not great but good! And I don't think punk would fit to well with DDR, I just can't imagine it ya know.

Hwy, I never said I didn't love japanese music, I'm just saying, it would attract way more people to DDR, and keep American fans happy, and no, I dont love this music just 'cuz I'm told to, I like it 'cuz I like it laugh.gif

How do you dance to those? As fast as you can! laugh.gif

I really don't care about them putting American punk music or whatever (it won't happen anyway) because I don't listen to that stuff. More viarety would be nice (esp. trance and D&B), but I think DDR is pretty well rounded anyway.

Either way, it is much better than that stupid Stepping Stage 3 shit at my arcade that has both N'Sync and Brittany Spears on it. goog.gif
