umhmmm... I'm more socialble then if i never met DDR and I love to meet people that play DDR they are usually all friendly and it's an easier way for me to get to know people by only a "video game" especially if they are guys . but anyway it has made me more confident on my body(so i don't go enorexic or somethng) and I can eat all i want when i'm done playing _________________

For a while DDR turned me into more of a fanatical and braindead person (i.e. freak), but I got over that recently by distancing myself away from it except for occasional indulgences. On the positive side, I've met lots of new people and have taken out frustrations through it though I don't quite recall if the frustrations caused by it outweigh that or not. |

DDR helped me become more comfortable doing things that made me uncomfortable in prior scenarios. Face it, when everyone at the school thinks it's the dorkiest thing in the world to do, and I'm out there playing regardless... that's a big step in self-realization. I have become more personified... and my legs have gotten a lot stronger. At the end of last semester, I played basketball with some of my black friends from college, and they were like, "Holy crap, you are fast as shit dude". And I go, "Well, probably from all that DDR! =D".
Playing at the arcade has increased my arm strength and leg strength even more... and finally being able to clear an extra stage(max2) really made me feel good about myself. Though, now that I can't play as much, it is extremely frustrating not being able to do the things that I used to be able to do... and that is sort of depressing me. But, DDR also did help introduce me to beatmania IIDX... which I am definitely grateful for... and I got a few new friends because of DDR (Katie, Ryan, Mattt, and Adam(cheez)). Heck, DDR has been the only real purpose for living... I mean, I finally found something that I'm half-way good at. Two things I seem to be good at... DDR and Japanese. While many people are superior than me in these two suits, I believe that it is important to realize someone's actual fortes... And it helped me accept praise from people in all different areas. Heck, DDR made my life worth living. _________________

DDR has done alot for me! First of all nobody in my area would be playing it if it was'nt for me. I live in one of those little cities but I went on vacation to N.Y and started playing. I showed to everyone at school an they became hooked too. Rock On DDR!! |

Well, a view from across the pond!
Some people consider DDR a game, nothing more, nothing less. To me, however, it's really improved my lifestyle. I've lost over 50lbs since Christmas, and my calf muscles are now nicely defined. I first played DDR on my honeymoon, and now my wife plays as well. Its something we both love and both want to improve on.
It's also given me an incentive to lose more weight. Better health, more attractive...it doesn't matter what that incentive is, as long as you have one. For me, it's beating Max 300. Everything else is done, just Max to go, and i know i'll never pass it until i loss another 20lbs or so!!!
On the social front, ive met a lot of new friends from on here, and it instantly gives you something in common. Its just a shame that no-one within 100 kms of here plays it more than once a year! |
