Like most of the reasons the others said, which are true, DDR can also:

Because it isn't just any regular music, like rap for example, some videos and songs are explictley with girls in thongs and bikinni's, shaking their butts around and squatting almost to the floor and bringing it back. But in DDR there isn't really a worry about that, and there isn't a CERTIAN dance, you can basically make up your own.

Another thing I just thought of that you can mention is the influence that other genres of music have had on the game, such as classical. There are several songs, such as V, End of the Century, and Dream a Dream all based on classical music.
