Corner arrow problems

I just got DDR Extreme and I am so happy. But there is one problem; the corner arrows! My metal pad has the corner arrows when I press the left one, it counts as down. That arrow seems to be too sensitive so when I press up, it counts as up and down! Since I can't fix it in options (Why did they have to remove the controller option frust.gif ), is there anyway I can fix my problem?

Import a PS2 and buy Extreme JP. I'm gonna get flamed for this. Or you could play around with the screws until it no longer activates for no reason.

Sift through the thread and look for the info about fixing the corner issue. (There's a method for a Cobalt Flux, and a method for Redoctane [putting bricks on the corner arrows].)
