I find it funny, a lot of you say you like it. But a lot of the people from Phoenix, didn't like it because it gave the wrong impression of a lot of us but it wasn't as bad as every one though.

That was actually the first article about DDR that I was impressed with. It even dabbled into Tournament coverage. Nice. It WAS funny. But personally, I think that stuff JSB pulled is held him back in the tourney. The grabbing boobs thing, the way they were talking, he could have annihilated the girl w/o the mental intercourse. And the intentional bad score-set to get the little fishes to sign up... Clever, I'll give him that... But still, it might be from all the DBZ I watched as a kid, but I think there's more honor in battling only the best.

And, Senior Sqweaky, I think it gave the wrong impression b/c the journalist dude overemhasized it a bit. He had to make it a bit more interesting becasue, quite frankly, when ya get right down to it, DDR is still just a bunch of sweaty geeks huddled around in an arcade. I'm okay with that, but not all of this dudes readers are.

So... okay thats it
-djPARA

Oh yeah... and PPP totally isn't as girlie as everyone thinks... well... okay... maybe a little... but I still love it... in a completely masculine sort of way...

They did say "almost nobody..." And were you 25 when you started? ::shrugs::

Even though there were a few typos/miscommunicated info or whatever, it didn't really bug me because I appreciated a lot the different approach the author took to the article, I thought it was an entertaining read.

Under 25 eh?? I have a good friend who is 29 who is just starting to get into DDR (with a little coaxing from me riiight.gif ) because of its fitness benefits. And I was playing against a 35 year old mom (or so they claimed, anyway) on X-box live last week... hmmm but I guess we're all in the minority, it's cool.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel too old for this game. Perhaps I need to retire from competing in tournaments or something... E15.gif

As well as completely unnecessary. It's not as if there was a chance he was going to lose that match. I'd have been far more impressed and amused if instead he asked to grab Jaime's crotch before the final match.

I'd be more impressed if Julie responded his request to touch her boobs with her asking if she can kick him square in the balls.

JSB: Can I touch your boobs?
Julie: Can I kick you in the balls?
JSB: Huh?

People talk about how much of an asshole JSB is, but I probably would be too if I were that good.

Anyway, great article.

Anyone?? What about Michael Jordan? Wayne Gretzky? Derek Jeter? Talent and class aren't mutually exclusive.

why????

just because you are good at something doesn't give you the right to be a dick. i wish more people were humble about their talents and were willing to help others to become as good as them. if i was that good thats how i would want it to be, then i would have some competition and maybe a little more fun rather than just going to tournaments to collect my prize. for now though i guess i will just stick to being middle of the road and having a hella good time playing a game that i have become obsessed with.

Edit: this is in reply to the post 2 above mine, i thought i could get in quick enough so that i wouldn't have to quote.

If this guy JSB is acting so poorly, why are people looking up to him? That isn't showing that he has any respect for others. Those that have enough skill to make it to the top are either nice people, or they're completely stuck up! frust.gif If I become good enough to be considered something worth looking up to, I won't make a terrible example of myself and others that play DDR. I just think he shouldn't have such a bad attitude just because he's good, I'm glad that I haven't met many like him.

This JSB person comes off as a complete tool, not a good representation of the DDR community at all.

Who thought this was a positive article again?

Oops. Was referring to JSB wanting to touch Julie Isbell in an inappropriate manner.

Damn short attention span and lack of attention to detail. D'oh!

When you see how a lot of people act around JSB, you begin to sympathize for him.

So he is a dick. Wow.

He is a 17 year old kid that's the best in the world at something. He is going to be an arrogant bumhole. That's just the way it works.

What's sad is that people are doggy about how it's going to hurt the DDR community with a bad representation. People already associate DDR with punk kids anyways. It's not like he is a UN represenative. He is a teenager that is having fun being immature.

Ask yourself this. Does it really matter how jsb acts? Is it going to destroy DDR? No. To both.

So stop acting like it's such a big deal. Because it's not.

And for the record, I don't think he has to act that way and I may not like the way he acts. But people are overreacting because he is a demi-god in the DDR community and overlooking the basics.
