Something sounds very wrong with that.

The only machines like what you described, to my knowledge, are the Namco machines, and aside from the header, and MAYBE the pads, the cabinet/buttons, and obviously the game are a dead giveaway of the crappiness.

Pics please.

I played on a Megamix today at an amusement park (Great Escape in Lake George). I didn't find it to be too horrible. At least all the songs were unlocked. And I got my first FC on Genom Screams on it.

How did that look legit even from a distance?

Because I don't know. It just did.

I'll get pics ASAP, if the place is still open, I drove by there 3 days ago and it looked like it was closing.

Um, I don't believe so. We had EXTREME Plus at a local arcade, but we ended up getting it downgraded to EXTREME again until we further received SuperNOVA. So from what I've seen, yes, it's possible to downgrade.

Extreme Plus is like any other bootleg. Bootlegs do not "obey the rules" that Konami imposed in the official software and accompanying hardware security cartridge that blocks downgrading or moving a game from one system unit to another. Those are the anti-piracy/anti-redistribution protections that Konami put in. The bootlegs remove those checks from the software to make it possible to distribute bootlegs that do not require the accompanying cartridge.

Bottom line: A bootleg Extreme should install just fine over Extreme Plus (which, of course, is bootleg itself).

Legit my achin' buttocks, I'd love to see the "cleaning up"/modifications they did to the disk data though.

Hahaha, let me tell you what they have changed. One thing. Every song title with anything that might be sexually suggestive or politically incorrect, is replaced with, and get this, HVAM. Yeah. Imagine going into the S section of alphabetical order and seeing like, five H songs(Lol, Sexy Planet).

It was actually kinda funny. What sucked was the arcade managers never let us unlock the damn machine.

Haha... lol at Dance Dance King's left pad. laugh.gif

And yeah, that first one does look weird. It looks like one of those pseudo-DDR machines that I keep seeing in my dreams, because for some f*cking reason my mind can't recall what a DDR machine looks like when I'm asleep. disgust.gif
