I don't know if a game can be "defined" by a song that most people never even play

Anything to do with Naoki or Smile.dk
you hear any of those songs, you think DDR
(possibly Afronova too?)

Both (or are there three?) Afronovas were done by Naoki, under different Aliases.

I'd say B4U. It's by Naoki, it's al labout dancing, and more specifically "DDR" is repeated many times in it.

Well how many times to you fight the final boss in a game. Usually once. And if you're a real freak about the game you play it more then once. I think it was a good example.

As for regular song wise I would say Dance Dance Revolution. The lyrics, the steps, the name, everything about it just screams DDR.

My point was, most people who play or have played DDR, never get good enough to play flashing tens... so for most people, a song like that means absolutely nothing. Perhaps for the hardcore player a song like this could "define" the game, but for the average player, it'd draw a blank.

Let them move.

No frick joke.

The early demo music was based off of that song and so that's what I think about when I think of DDR.

Yeah I agree. The obvious is Dance Dance Revolution. But when I hear some say Butterfly or CrazyTown's song Butterfly I think of DDR

Heh. I think the same song.

But for me, it was because it was a Lesson song on DDRMAX, and that was the first DDR I ever played and I went straight to the lessons.

1998 defines DDR< it was the year it came out
kakumei, it does mean revolution.

The song I've always thought that defined DDR has to be Dynamite Rave. First song I played, first song I liked. I think it just captures the spirit of the game, to dance and just have fun while doing it. It's one of the few songs I still enjoy to play.
