The original PARANOiA or Dance Dance Revolution.

Max300 or Butterfly could also be considered.

I must say:

B4U - First song that I EVER played.
Dynamite Rave - SECOND song I ever played.
HV:AM - Most impressive Cata when I first started playing biggrin.gif

i would have to agree with many of you and say Dynamite rave and B4U are two of the songs that define DDR. Probably for me because those were the two songs i first heard and i will never forget them.

Butterfly, I think that's the main song that people associate with DDR.

I definitely think it's Dynamite Rave. I remember first hearing that song when it played during the high scores on 3rd Mix and thinknig "d00d! That song rocks!" It's been around for quite a while, been remixed a few times, and the lyrics are all about dancing.

I always thought that B4U defined the game perfectly. I also think that Dance Dance Revolution, D2R, Break Down and Brilliant 2U could be considered songs that define DDR.

Dynamite Rave defined DDR early on

MAX 300 defined the shift to hardcore passing and PA'ing

Dance Dance Revolution is going back to Old School Style, DDR Extreme is too diverse in it's song selection to have one song define it.

Paranoia 180

old school classics are what define the game.

Butterfly. happy.gif Seriously though, Dance Dance Revolution. It just makes sense. Or maybe max. due to the "Thanks for playing" at the end.

Butterfly means nothing in terms to define DDR. It's just more of smile.dk. B4U or Dynamite Rave (The LONG version) are better definition examples for DDR.

Dance Dance Revolution ONI. Because the oni steps showcase the steps from many songs, representing the innovation of DDR.

Dynamite Rave and the Letter Number Letter(B4U, B2U, etc.) series as well.

P.S. Why does everyone call it Paranoia 180? It's just plain old Paranoia. 180 is the artist name. It's not like theres any other song called "Paranoia(with no fancy remix names)" to confuse it with.

I feel the same way. Those three songs have always been songs people loved to play.

Actually, maybe, switch DDR with LoM. It defined a new challenge, plus, it added the speed, sound, and fun that makes this game so enjoyable.

I think I'm going to go with Max 300. If you play even for a little bit, Max 300 is what is going to remind you of DDR the most.

Obviously, Dance Dance Revolution. This one needs no explanation.
B4U: Naoki said in the Konamix instruction booklet that he felt this was the song that embodied DDR.
Butterfly: This is the song that embodied Dancemania DDR songs.
Paranoia (180): This song is a true representative of the "difficulty" and uniqueness of DDR.
Max 300: This represents the true difficulty of DDR.
And finally... the surprise answer:

Kakumei: Considering that its name means "revolution," I think this is a perfectly fitting song for DDR. dj TAKA and Naoki's interpretation of it really brings out the DDR feel of the famous classical piece.
