Ok I just got some new metal pads and modded them but I have 2 old ignition pads lying around in the corner of my room that have lasted 8 months withnout a problem and I just thought of an idea and I want to know if this will work. What I want to do is just super glue some strong impact plexiglass over all the arrows. Then I would get some sheetmetal and cut it so it would look sorta like this but without the brackets:

Then I would get some plywood on the bottom and would bend the sheet metal around the bottom so it would stay on and have the arcade look. That whole project would probably cost you 75$ and would take lke 30 minutes to make but would it work and have the arcade feel?

Not a bad Idea acept that you would still have sticky button problems which soft pads are natorious for. As for an acrade feel it wouldnt be the same, your plexi would be right on top of the sensor all the time thus requireing little to no pressure to set it off (unless you put weatherstripping around the arrow) and would probably cause you a lot of problems. It's better to just build the whole pad from scratch and save your pads.

The weight of the plexiglass would trigger a step, thus causing massive problems. Nice idea though.
