Hey, people! I, Jeffrey Faden, along with my two friends Bryan Groza (BouncyFish) and Brad Griffin (EvilFlatKiwi), have started a new webcomic about DDR, called "Let's Dancing."

You can read it here: http://www.jeffreyatw.com/ld

But there are a few things I must explain before you start complaining about it:

1) Only one comic is up right now. It started today. The latest one is barely an introduction, I know. A new comic will be up every other day.

2) The art is not professional quality, nor anywhere near it. We're all high school kids and we're not fine artists, just cartoon artists. If you want a DDR comic with art, go read the 10K Commotion.

3) Yes, we HAVE heard of the 10K Commotion. We're not trying to compete in any fashion; our comic is completely different. We link to them even. Don't you even dare start to compare the two.

4) If you're a DDR fanatic and you have no common sense, this comic will insult you. That's our point. The main character has common sense. Try to follow his example as he starts from scratch and gets better, okay?

5) The design elements of the page are from DDR Extreme, of course, and a lot of images are modified from the StepMania Extreme Skin by SPiGuMuS. It does look pretty cool though, eh?

Thank you for reading this short disclaimer before you go and dump on the comic. This is mainly an introduction and the start of a discussion thread that I hope will grow as the comic progresses. Thanks.

heeeey! grats on getting the site up and open-- cheers! beerchug.gif I'm sure it's a lot of work but the DDRextreme layout works great now. I like that pic of Johnny on the screen too-- reminds me of when I first met a FAILED screen. Billy is a lot cooler about it than I was.

I'm definitely linking to you guys from my site and I'll be checking back to see about that "family secret"-- yoroshiku! happy.gif

Whaddaya know, there's a thread about the other comic as well. It's not some sort of step site or... ugh... outwar link trap... it's something that I want Freakers to talk about. You don't see makoto's thread being locked.

The onscreen arrows don't move, and the panels don't light up. E19.gif

But it still rocks my socks!

At least he's doing something. That's more than I can say for your sorry buttocks, woodduck.

Keep up the comics. I like it and will be checking back more.

Hey now ladies, we don't need those harsh words in this thread nono.gif

I'm all for artistic expression... The comic does need something more in terms of plot though.

Hah, you don't actually expect flamers to get off their buttocks and do anything productive, do you? E1.gif

Yes, thanks for continuing to give it a chance. E10.gif

This comic will have a plot. Yeah, the first one doesn't have any dialogue, but what do you expect? This is a plot-based comic, so it will focus on Billy, the character in the comic that's up. What I'm trying to say is that the first one isn't really supposed to be very funny. It basically shows how good the main character is (heh, maybe in comparison to how the main characters of 10K started out?)

9feet, I didn't expect you would. Don't worry, there will be a character introduced soon that'll cater more to your DDRFreak-ish desires. E10.gif

Thanks... yeah, the whole thing was originally static, yet Bryan recommended I add some animation to it to make it a bit flashy and... worthwhile, perhaps. At the time I made it, I didn't have StepMania or anything open, so I only used one picture. You're right, I could have put a bit more time into that frame.
BTW... anyone notice the crappy Namco arrows? biggrin.gif

I heard you before... what don't you understand, though? I mean, can you not remember when you were a DDR newbie? Maybe not... E10.gif

Yes, I addressed this already... there's only one comic up now. Another one will be up on Wednesday. That one will have 4 "Panals." Excitement will ensue.

Boy, I'm being really mean today.

I liked it because it accurately describes everyone's first time playing. Please keep it as a story, and not a random comic. It'd be good to have him progress through levels and experience his first knee plant and what-not. happy.gif

Good work.

There should be progression and story, as long as Jeffrey keeps up his great work in writing. I believe that this comic will be able to be enjoyed by everyone. You'll have to wait with anticipation and see what comes next!
