Hey, someone told me that there might eventually be a US port of Beatmania for the PS2, is this true?

IMO, doubtful. Complicated games with expensive custom peripherals are hard to give to the US without an arcade version. I mean, maybe Donkey Konga and Taiko no Tatsujin show that music games with custom peripherals are possible, but those are very simple games.

There's been no official message on it. Although I read that the guy showing DDR Extreme US at some convention recently was saying that he was trying to get IIDX and others to the US.

My arcade just got Beatmania III and I love playing it. The headphone jacks just sold me lol. The hardest song I've done is probably Jam and Marmalade (but barely). Any good 5 star songs or even some hard 4 star ones to ease into 5s?

But I FCed Overdoser last time which made me happy.

They only got Hiphopmania 2 at my arcade.

Is that version any good? I LOVE BM!! I wish there was an IIDX machine near me though.

HHM CM2= Beatmania CM2 (Everything between 1 through 5 plus some additions) but its missing some songs from the japanese version.

CM2 does NOT have every song from 1-5.

But it's still pretty good.

BM 2nd mix is tres easy.

I sat down and an hour or so later I had cleared everything in one try. I couldn't figure out how to get e-motion 2nd mix unlocked though.

IIDX is cool but I still like beatmania a lot.

I played beatmania for one of the first time yesterday, this game is kinda fun. I'm use to playing just ddr...but I was tired so I decided to go and play beatmania with my bf, he likes it better than ddr...I think I might start playing more often...

It is extremely unlikely we'll see beatmania in the U.S. because of the controller. It has a japanese patent, soae with keyboardmania guitar freaks and every other good game.

At the local arcade we have "Hip-Hop Mania 2". I'm not positive on what the techincal mix name is but I love it. 1 token (equivalent to a quarter or .25 dollars US) gets 5 songs

My favorites are Crymson Scarlet Mix, Hell scaper another mix, Attack the music remix, and so many others. Beatmania is such an addictive game. I had a friend who was really into ddr and was getting rather good who basically stopped playing it at the arcade to focus on beatmania more lol Theres a 7 key about 1 state north, and one 2 states south, but I don't plan on driving that distance to find out I suck at it. Beatmania needs practice and im not about to drive hours at a time =p

hey i have beatmania 2nd mix ,3rd mix,4th,gotta and euro edit.

i cant get 4th mix to load without the antimod screen.
how do you guys get your 4th mix to work,like,what chips or disks do you use.

i live in england so hardly anyone knows about beatmania

Hey dont yell at me yell at GAMEPRO thats where i heard it. As for DDR pads. The pads are simple its like the NES power pad, that got to the U.S. without patent issues. And for the european beatmania, thats news to me. Im thinkin of gettin beatmania but its hard to find P.S. games and controllers.
