Ahaha, I once saw a movie named "La Maquina de bailar" which means "The Dancing Machine" in spanish. The whole movie was about a DDR tournament. And in the end this one dude had to go against Yasu, and the hardest song in the game(the "death dance") was Dead end on standard.. I was just like "What the eff? E4.gif" during the whole movie. It was so fun when Yasu appeared, everyone wanted his autograph and being the buttocks he is, he ignored them : laugh.gif

Heh, I found a mention of our beloved site in one of my textbooks.

I don't have a scanner right now so its blurry. Text:
Quote:
An interactive computer game called Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) has become a popular fitness option for adolescents. The game is played on a dance pad with four arrow panels activated by the feet. The arrows are synchronized to the rhythm and beat of a chosen song, and the computer tracks the number of correct steps made on the pad. The game has multiple levels for different abilities and allows multiple people to play at one time. The game has become so popular among youth that many schools have purchased the technology for school based physical education programs. A number of other games have developed based on this type of interaction. As game and computer technology continue to evolve, it is likely that these applications will become even more common. There are a number of Web sites devoted to DDR fans. The following site - www.ddrfreak.com - is just one of many.

I've seen the game mentioned in places like that before, but the mention of the site amused me.

Forgot to post this ... May 5 on The Colbert Report, he had a "dance off" with Rain ... the sparks and ending had me cracking up.

At the beginning of Final Destination 3, Some guy is dancing to Tribal Dance at The amusement park, you know, before everyone dies.

VH1's infamous "I Love (insert era here)" series (you know, that show that picks an era and makes fun of the highlights from each year) is now doing I Love the New Millenium. In their 2004 episode, they diss Dance Dance Revolution.

(EDIT: Dammit, Kachan...)

Chad Ford, a sportswriter, used DDR to make fun of Portland Trailblazer Greg Oden's injury in a column leading up to this year's NBA draft. I thought it was pretty funny. It's in the 2nd part of the Derrick Rose section. Probably not worth reading if you're not a sports fan.
