Hi everyone,

YASD (Yet Another System to Dance) has developped and started the selling of bars for DDR and ITG home play. A few important points:

-they are adaptable on ALL solid dance mats (TX, cobalt flux, blueshark etc..)
-They are easily transportable as they can be dismantled
-They are made of very resistant steel (they resist a weight of 150kgs)
-They are available in different sizes so no matter how tall you are
-They are very stable thanks to the form of the tubes
-Several versions have been released, and many others are to come

just have a look: http://www.yasd.fr/-Boutique-en-ligne-.html?lang=en

if you need further information, please contact me: alexandre@yasd.fr

It's about time someone started selling custom made bars, though I think at close to $300 usd's they'll be out of most people's price range.

In the meantime, i recently came across this aluminum/steel railing system for people looking for a step up from PVC... I didnt work it all out but it looks like the prices would come out to about $100 per bar:

I just visited the site and they do look great! You wouldn't be "stuck" with something huge in the middle of the room if you don't have a dedicated space for a pad and bar.

However, I just did a EU to US dollar on yahoo ... it'd cost us $283.58 plus shipping - which from Europe, depending on where, can be hideously expensive.

I looked at a 23lb dance pad from a company in Europe - it would have cost close to $300 US to ship because the cost of shipping has gone sky high (gas prices I think mostly).

But it is a great idea. Maybe you could get a US partner or distributor? Might make it cheaper and more readily available to people in the US.

You can make a pretty sturdy bar out of 2x4's if you're low on cash. Costs about $5 and it'll be quite a bit sturdier than most PVC bars. I think I have some pictures of a few I made in my photobucket album sitting behind some Cobalt Fluxes.
