Backwards symbol in names

It was cool and all when BOD found it but now that 50% of RC has it in their username its starting to get annoying, especially when quoting someone you have to end up typing your entire response backwards or have the whole quote broken. Can we make it so they can't be put in usernames?

I 2nd this. It's impossible to figure out how to quote people. We all had fun w/ the latest fad, but like all DDR Freak fads, it's time to retire it.

Actually, if you quote someone with it in their name, just don't edit their text at all and keep typing your post as usual and your post will turn out fine.

When quoting, if you highlight then delete the character it'll flip everything back to normal too.

My point is if you just banned the use of the symbol we wouldn't have do special highlight techniques or only use certain browsers to get back normal site functions.

I don't see what the big deal is. It only takes a second to delete the symbol.

Edit: And banning the use of the symbol "in any way" would be really excessive. Why the hell shouldn't I be allowed to, say, put it in my sig or location?

Wouldn't it be a simple matter to restrict usernames to ASCII instead of the full Unicode character set using, for example, a script on the server side?

Then it wouldn't even be an issue, people could use it how they wanted in other ways etc etc...

Technical solutions are always best.
