The beginning of this is laughably stupid. The guitars aren't even playing and you have to do a 200 note stream of pure tapping... what the hell. The rest is decent, though it's more difficult than it deserves to be. They're throwing in tons of notes where they don't belong.

that song reminds me a lot of ITG in the way the designed their notes (which isnt a compliment). oh well, i hope the hard mode is fun for that song at least.

Good thing that's going to be a bonus song.

Yeah sons like that.. that are near impossible to beat, aren't fun for me. I like a challenge, yeah, but come on. That's a bit much IMO. Songs like Play With Me, Bark At The Moon and Jordan, while pretty damned hard, aren't so insane I don't ever wanna play them.

From what that video shows, it doesn't look as hard as jordan.

In fact, there is nothing in that song that should be as fast as the worst parts of jordan, so it shouldn't be too ridiculous. This song will probably be more of a stamina tester than a test of incredible speed.

I expected pretty much what I saw.. but I agree that there seemed to be extra shit there that shouldn't have been.. pushing it closer to that line of "so insane it's not that fun". But still.. that was only 2 minutes of a 7 minute song, so we'll have to wait and see.

Never heard of it. Do they have a link to a sample of it or anything?

New song confirmed. "Go That Far" by Bret Michaels. IN ADDITION, Bert Michaels will also appear in the game as a character like Slash & will be the lead vocalist whenever you play Poison's "Talk Dirty To Me" (cover) or "Go That Far".

Looks like there's a distinct possibility I'll pull a hat trick:

interview with the drummer for Dream Theater wrote:
Question:
Would you allow your music to be used in a video game such as the Guitar Hero or Rock Band series?

Answer:
Of Course! We're just waiting for the offer!

So in light of this, if dream theater doesn't end up on GH3, then the developers are automatically fucking retards.

So which one would you want?
I think Lie would work well.
As I Am or Constant Motion also come to mind.

Shit, there are a bunch that would work fine.

Ytse Jam
Take the Time
Metropolis
Learning to Live
Innocence faded
Lie
Overture 1928
Fatal Tragedy
Beyond this Life
Dance of Eternity
Blind Faith
As I Am
In the Name of God
In Constant Motion
The Dark Eternal Night
etc...

Of those, I'd probably go for Overture 1928, Take the Time, or Ytse Jam.
If I really had my pick, I'd probably pick some DT related song, like something from Liquid Tension Experiment or Suspended Animation.

huh, now that I think about it it's surprising they haven't already used santana. It would be nice if they actually used a song he wrote though...

Well of that list I only know In Flames and Lacuna Coil. But it doesn't matter.. the track list is shaping up to be awesome and I think I'm gonna have to call in "sick" to work for a day or week =P
