Depending on the number of people and money

make a fee (aka "dues")
most clubs have them anyway

say like $10 per person or something. not too bad IMO (thats what i paid for science club)

I have 450$ to spend, you guys think I should just go for it and buy the mymybox blueshark with the bar.

http://www.mymybox.com/ddrmbsgxg365.html

Is the bar removable by any chance?

I think it can be removed, but it's not really removable any more than a couch is portable.

what would be a decent metal pad to buy that isn't too expensive. it would be used to play 9-12's on. is a Blueshark the only option for me? (I hope not). i was wanting a CF, but it seems like they're really unstable. (both the pad and HQ)

If you get a BS, be aware that if there any problems you can't fix yourself, then your pretty much screwed. Otherwise I hear good things about them.

apparently not, cause I don't know what problems he is talking about. My Blueshark is great, whether you are playing 8s or 13s...

Most BlueSharks arrive really banged up, but work perfectly.

One or two cases I've heard of had malfunctions.

xmas?!?!? xmas?!??! That's an even longer wait than you'd have from DTG!!! Seriously, I'm sure you can get the money to build 2 good homebrews over the summer, and then you can have a doubles setup to your liking before the end of summer. Seriously, a week's pay at minimum wage will pay for the materials for your average homebrew.

Yeah, a summer job should be able to make you enough for a Blueshark in a month.

I've been reading around the forums and Cobalt Flux is widely hailed as the best home pad out there...but...

...those were posts from 1-2 years ago.

What are the truths (if any) to the recent complaints about CFs? (Bad sensitivity, low quality products..., some of which are mentioned in this very thread)

And if this is true, what are the alternative to home metal pads beside blueshark? (which has also been receiving some bad ITG / DDRFreak publicity..)

Thanks.

Actually... The line of poor cobalt fluxes was due to a lack of materials taht the company had to work with. They did some backordering and ended up using different parts.

The new shippment should be the same as before.

How new is "new?"

Is now a, "safe" time to order one?

I wouldn't want to be stuck with a bad pad. frown.gif

apparently, they've been very behind lately, so until they stop taking 1-2 months to ship, i'd wait.

I don't thin waiting is a decision in these circumstances. E15.gif
