According to Bemanistyle, Betson and Konami will make a location test for an American arcade release of Beatmania IIDX Gold in Naperville, IL at Brunswick Zone.

YAY!

(I live in Mexico though... frown.gif
so I hope Betson brings this game over here)

(Title fixed)

UPDATE The Testing is going to begin March 5th and it will last 2 weeks, then it will go to Las Vegas to be shown in ASI show.

This by far absolutely does not mean that IIDX will see an american release in the arcades. What it does mean is that konami and betson are testing out the waters and seeing if it warrants a release. Don't get too excited yet.

Every IIDX player within 200 miles or so is going to flock to this test to let Betson know that IIDX is very much wanted, but yeah it's still unlikely it'll be popular enough to get a nationwide release.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Ugh why are they not testing this in CA. People from all over the state would go to test it (myself included). Hopefully the testing is successful and we get IIDX arcade over here.

If I was more into IIDX, I would SO go to this. I'm only like 2 hours away from Naperville.

Because the Naperville location was the same place they location tested SuperNOVA. It's just like the Japanese location tests. They're always in the same two places.

I'm sure there will be a US location test somewhere on the west coast soon.

I remember hearing that Betson was based out of IL so That's why they always test there first.

Isn't KOJ still making arcade units in Japan, Or am I mistaken? If they are then the fact that Betson is involved means they're planning for a North America Release.

But in IL? I doubt there will be a large crowd at all, and they are indeed stupid for not testing in Cali. But we wish and hope there will be a large sum of people going and hopefully hint to them we'd love a release in the U.S.

IL has players, but my concern is the location. It's a bowling alley in a suburban "ghetto" (which is what people call it; it's more like a mix of the most obnoxious of high school/pre-teen emo/goth/punk/jocks kids).

Is there a confirmed date as to when this machine will arrive and be working?

I haven't been to BZ in a while, but I think it's a good location IMO. I woulda chosen GameWorks or something closer E10.gif but a lotta DDR/ITG ppl go there often enough and I'm pretty sure they play IIDx as well.

And if they did get it, I'm sure many ppl would travel just to play over the weekends and stuff.

Yesterday I spoke with Naoki Okada, VP of Amusement Business Division for Konami, and he confirmed that the IIDX Gold will be tested at Brunswick Zone of Naperville in early March. He informed me that the game will be made available to the public for testing on Monday March 5th, 2007. I was not informed of the official end date for this test, I will have to post an update with that information at a later date. Previously they informed me the period will last about two weeks. After the two week test period the machine will be sent to the ASI show in Vegas!

Why will it be at the ASI show? It's not like IIDX Gold will revolutionize the way suppliers and distributors do their business.
