i recently purchased a metal dance pad. i has a vga connector and came with no drivers or adapter. i am considering buying a vga to usb adapter, but i doubt that will help with the driver issue. i would be thankful if someone would either provide a driver or point me in the direction of one.

thank you in advance

here's a picture of the pad if it helps at all

also it's listed in the device manager as media

perhaps thats the problem, there is no control box.

who sells the best of?

i did some looking and saw that the cobalt flux uses the 15pin 3 tier design and their control box as a PS/PS2 port and i need one with a usb port.

i have also looked at the multi-platform control boxes they only accept is 9pin.

the xbox control box accepts 15 pin 3 tier but has a xbox connector

any thoughts, i know i could buy converters but i got the mat for $50 and if it gets to costly to start using it i may just return it when i can

There is no universal control box because every type of pad's 9-pin connectors are arrayed differently. You'll need to contact the manufacturer or try to find out which wires are which and make your own.

The issue isn't drivers. You're missing a control box from the sound of it. Basically, your pad has wires leading up to the 9pin connector at the top of the pad. Each wire corresponds to a certain button, and then when a control box is plugged in. Each wire is mapped to a certain location on a PS2 (assuming it's a PS2 control box) controller's PCB. So getting a VGA to USB converter really doesn't do anything, since the actual converter can't interpret the signals from the VGA connection. Anyways, here's where you can get a control box: http://mymybox.com/ddracc16.html assuming it is a Solomode. BTW There are no drivers.

i contacted mymybox and they said theirs only has a 9 pin connector where as mine has a 15 pin connector. they mentioned it might be a bluesmart pad due the metal framing.

also would this http://www.ddrgame.com/coboxforpsme.html work for the pad? or should i find out the company who made it first?

i got a ps2 control box and aps2 to usb converter. now only the left arrow is responsive, the others are only responsive when pressed with left.

i tested it with marvel vs. capcom 2 (it was in the machine) and found the same issue with the buttons

any idea what the problem is?

My guess is the control box is not the right one for you pad. The pins are arranged differently. Sounds like you've got the ground going to the left arrow, that would explain why the other buttons only work while you hold the left button.

To me it doesn't even make sense to sell a pad with a vga connector.
