Yea, My friend gave me his Red Octain pad, it's old, and the arrows are all cracked, after fixing the censors and cleaning them (half of why they didn't work) I realized something.. My connection to my control box was smashed to peices.. here are pix:

My question is.. Can it be fixed? I can fix it if I have a wiring diagram, or somesone gives me a spare connection I can splice into it (color matching the wires)
so please help me out! I can't afford a new one.

I'm talking about the connection to the box.. not the box itself

There are censors in your pad? I guess you can't play anything by E-Rotic then...

Also, that's not a RO pad. I think it's a TX-1000, but I might be wrong.

Yes there are censor in the pad, cleaned them and it worked better... I get it home to realize the connection to the control box was smashed to peices

and it is a RO pad, because it has the sitcker right on the side

Red Octane used to make pads like that before they made the afterburners. Too bad both designs suck.

I got it for free, so I am not complaining. I just want to know if I can fix it or NOT.

if you can take a pic of the control box (or what's left of it), then maybe.

worst comes to worst, you buy an old psx controller and wire it up to that. you'll probably have to figure out which connections are which with a multimeter.

IT IS NOT the control box. the box itself is FINE. I am talking about the Connection FROM the pad TO the control box.

I have the exact same problem --I know what you're saying! :O

MasterInuYasha is talking about the 15 pin RS232 connector that is at the End of the wiriing cord that plugs into the red box. Even pictures <edit> of the back of a working connector <end edit> would help.

Hey MasterInuYasha, I know most of the pin spots- I'll write them down and post them, maybe we can work out the whole thing. v.e

sorry I was trying to get the edit in there, I meant pictures of working connectors if someone doesn't want to document each pin and wire color.

I opened a ticket with red octane. If they know anything I'll let you know.

i was messing with it but my connector was too far gone, someone attempted a second repair and it was melted- I couldn't say with certainty what is correct. I thought it was in better shape.
