I'm looking to download some of the bumper packs off of DDRUK for StepMania. It said I had to register and login. Well, I tried to login with a name I had created a short while ago. It didn't work. I tried resetting my password (Yesterday afternoon) and I haven't gotten an e-mail. Could someone help me?!?!?!?! Or should I contact DDRUK?

I would suggest you have WinRAR before downloading simfiles. That way, you can select "Open", open the WinRAR archive and extract the files to the folder without saving it to your computer (and having two copies). However, if you ever download anything that's not already in .rar or .zip format, you have to save it anyway so you can change the file extension to either of those.

Doesn't selecting "Open" just save it to the browser cache and open it from there? That would mean you'd end up with two copies anyway.

I looked at my browser cache and there's nothing there.

None of that matters. I still need to be logged in to do ANYTHING to get the files I want. The problem (as stated above) is I cannot register with my e-mail address and I cannot reset the password because I haven't gotten the e-mail)

If you're using a paid for e-mail address, just create another one on Yahoo! and register with that one. Otherwise, there's a program that creates temporary e-mail addresses that disappear after 10 minutes or so.

You should contact DDRUK, since there really isn't much that anyone here can do about it.

Let me rephrase that - I know for a fact that the zip/rar file gets stored to your computer. On IE, it is stored in Content.IE5 in Temporary Internet Files. Maybe if your cache is full, it deletes it right away or something. I kind of doubt it, though.

The unzip/unrar-ing is done on your computer, not on the host computer, meaning that the file has to be stored somewhere on your hard drive.

Correct answer.

There has to be a page at the site that you can contact an admin.
