I had a question and this seemed like the best thread to ask it in.

I was just wondering if the file size for the avatars had changed (as in KB, not dimensions), because if not I was using an avatar that was slightly too large for quite some time. It finally stopped working recently. Did the size change or did the rule just start being enforced at some point?

The filesize specifications haven't changed since last year I think, and I haven't messed with it in quite some time; I've only removed one or two avatars in the last few months, so I'm not really sure what the case was for you. It usually has to be a rather apparently offender in order for us to actually do something about it. I don't check avatar filesizes as I read posts or anything dumb like that.

Sometimes if someone's avatar's host changes configs and has .htaccess configured in such a way that loading images causes a login prompt, then we'll definitely remove it as soon as we see it.

I don't really know what to say in your case though. :/ At least you're good now, right?

I agree, especially about the signature. It's so annoying to have such a small block of space to put your stuff in. The avatar size doesn't bother me that much, it used to be like 60x60 or something, so 100x100 isn't that bad. I guess it would be cool though if they could be bigger.
