Hello all,

I've got two BNS DX-Xtreme soft pads (the kind that has a foam insert, similar to the Redoctane models) that you can get from www.buynshop.com . This is the model: http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/4985/VG-DDR-ULTDX/ .

One of the pads, I got about a year ago. Maybe longer. It's been working wonderfully until about a month ago. Unfortunately, the left arrow is starting to 'stick' or 'ghost' arrows. As in, sometimes when I clearly press the left arrow (while playing a song on ITG) it'll not register and just give a miss. Other times, I'll be playing and stepping on the other arrows and I see the left arrow triggering (on the screen, the left stationary arrow is being repeatedly pushed in). This generally causes my left arrow to not respond properly.

This issue only happens some of the time; if I press the arrow 'firmly' and closer to the outside edge the problem occurs somewhat less frequency. It's still annoying though, and hinders gameplay.

Note that I've had this pad for a while now, and I've used it on heavy, hard, and expert songs without much of a problem until recently. Plus, I'm not a heavy person, and I try not to stomp on the pads with a lot of force. I play it on a Sony Playstation 2.

So I unzipped the pad and took out the foam insert. I saw that there were several tears in the material underneath where the sensors are.. so I put on some strong tape to close those up.

Anyway, has anyone had experience with remedying this problem? frown.gif

Thanks for any and all help,

orb

I ahve the same problem, its the foam inserts. I just use it without the inserts. Or I took the measurments of the pad and bought some ply wood. Then I put the plywood in where the foam goes, then a peice of cardboard between the wood and the sensors.

Soft/flat pads, they suck, so just get over it.

True, but I put plywood in my Ignition 2.0 pad, and now it works fine. No more phantom stepping.

Flipping the foam didn't really help that much

But wouldn't using plywood make it kinda 'hard' and painful to step on when playing really hard songs?
