Depends on the song.
Beatmania (The original five key series) had about the same length songs. I think most DDR crossovers might be a couple secconds longer in IIDX. Colors is the Radio edit, and V is also longer.

Some songs are DDR length, some are ITG length, if that helps.

Actually, most BM/III songs are very short (see, everything in the Beatmania folder of Extreme) clocking in around 1:10 - 1:25 in length. It was only around 6th or 7th mix that the standard IIDX song size (1:45 - 2:00) started to make it's apperance.

Most IIDX-into-DDR crossovers only loose about... 15 to 20 seconds. Only a few, like Kakumei, Leading Cyber, or Last Message go through without an edits.

Its really sad that some IIDX crossovers in DDR recieved such horrible cuts. Bad Routine, Colors, and V are the most noticable. Xenon had a little cut and Sync had a major one.
IIDX versions are better too. Trip Machine SP - Jungle Mix (Beatmania II Version) and Hyper Eurobeat have better IIDX versions.

Still can't wait though. I actually AAed Kakumei on L7. Its an easier AA, but I just always seem to mess up the slowdown.

Colors isnt that bad. Colors atleast has an ENDING to it it, unlinke the fade out on IIDX.

Xenon/Sync/V aren't that noticeable if you haven't listened to the originals. Even then, the cuts are fairly decent (Sync lost part of the beginning build, V lost two piano rolls). You want arsed up edits? Tomorrow Perfume. x.x

As for Colours... the (For Extreme) cut is just cobbled together from the (Original Mix) found on the 6th style OST, which has a faaaar better, and more suiting trance ending.

Abyss, A, and era Nostal all have been shortened, too. A's missing half of it's buildup and a little of the speed up section, Abyss is missing a section after the piano section after the song freezes in DDR, and era is missing the build down into the bpm halving section. Stoic's been cut, too. It's missing a lot of the beginning.

For the most part, the Ultramix series has full length IIDX songs on it (if they've never appeared in a DDR version before that is). For example: Starmine, Love Is Dreaminess, and Luv To Me Ucchie's. Of course A and V uses the Extreme versions.

It was the 6th mix long versions that started the IIDX length into BM thing. Disabled the FLAW Long Version is 1:55.

About the release date, meh, I'll ask for it for my birthday if it gets released before April.

I went back to the mall today and actually played the Beatmania III. The songs actually seemed pretty short.

Also, the game is really hard... E2.gif Kinda fun though, I guess you just gotta get used to it... It's like Jam with the Band, 'cept sideways.

Oh, I wish the Beatmania III (Core Append Mix) machine was still down in Monaca. It was a 2-Hour drive but well worth it.

It was so much fun.

I talked with the arcade op (Arcade 2000) that I drove over 2 hours to play that one game, and he ended up giving me, like, four games for free. happy.gif

I wonder what it tells us about the games interface, since I doubt we will use 9th styles.

Why wouldn't they use 9th Style's?

That's what I got to play at E3 :/

Because they said that E3's game was just a quick mash-up, because they just started on the actual game. Theres no gurantee we will have 9th styles interface.

I would freaking pass out in joy if it contains any of RED or HS songs... Especially Tatsh's or Yamaoka's.

EDITLOG:
1. I would freaking pass out --> I would freaking pass out in joy
