I apologize if this has already been posted elsewhere, but I haven't found an answer.

So, what exactly does C400 do? Because I've played with it and haven't noticed any difference in gameplay.

C400 makes the arrows scroll at a constant rate equivalent to a 400 bpm song. My observations are that this also includes slowdowns and speedups, that the arrows will still remain at a 400 bpm song scroll speed.

By extension, C <x> hundred for that matter, makes the arrows scroll at a constant rate equivalent to <x> hundred bpm.

If ranking is important, make sure C400 isn't triggering a "will disqualify from ranking" warning.

Oh. I must've been playing some fast songs when I tried (I think it was C200), maybe Hysteria or PARANOiA.

It's the same function on both ITG and SM.

Yeah, the only reason it makes "Max." easier is that you don't have to deal with that 600 bpm run at the end which to me makes the song totally lame if you do it. That's why ITG DQ's you for that.

I only use C400/C500 on the lame songs that I hate which have rediculously low BPMs. I do it on all the MC songs and the Sammi Morelli songs. I just basically use it on the songs that I hate.

Low BPM = hate? frown.gif Me and my 85 bpm trance song I'm writing are sad.

No, I just happen to dislike the songs' steps which happen to have rediculously low BPM. That's why I've been C modding/bar rapping everything. Lately, I've been doing C500 or x3 or x4. I'm hoping for x3.5 or C600. :]

I don't mind low BPM if I'm just listening to them, but FAing low BPM songs suck for me.

I think the "C" stands for Constant, making the speed constant for the whole song disregarding of slowdowns or speedups.

That is what the C stands for in C mod.

all the C mods are way too fast for me. C100 or 150 would make my day.

Why don't you do it then???

You can change your speeds in your program folder.

Oh I thought we were talking about stepmania for some reason.

C400= Constant 400 bpm, which means that it stays at one scrolling rate despite any speed changes or freezes.

Yeah, we sort of established this fact already. Can this thread be locked now? It's sort of served its purpose. -_-
