Welcome to the In the Groove forum!

This forum is dedicated to the Dancing Simulator: In the Groove! In the Groove, ITG for short, is produced by a company named ROXOR Games. Their website is available here, and the ITG specific section here.

In the Groove is billed as a next generation dancing simulator, and it is very much a live concept. Currently, there are three versions of In the Groove. In the arcade, there is In the Groove - the original upgrade kit featuring about seventy songs and difficulty up to one (13) on Expert. There is also In the Groove 2, another upgrade kit featuring another seventy songs and, while staying with (13) difficulty, upping the total number of (13)'s to 3. Further, there is a dedicated standalone Pump it Up: In the Groove 2, which is the ITG2 game but on a dedicated unit.

For home release there is In the Groove, for the Playstation 2 gaming console.

This forum is for the discussion of all of these games and the ITG project as a whole as it progresses.

To some extent, comparisons with DDR are to be expected and are necessary. Even DDR vs ITG arguments, if conducted civilly, can be valuable. What I will ask is that people on this board refrain from flaming either game. Stating arguments why you think things are so is fine, flaming is not. The rules of the message boards as a whole and the FAQ, of course, still apply.

This sticky will be updated over time with new information.

From Cutriss:

The line between discussion of simming ITG and outright infringement of ITG isn't any different here than it was over in the DDR forum, guys.

It's fine to talk about extracting your own resources from your game disc for your own private use. It is not fine to share those files with other people.

It's fine to make an ITG-like sim. It's not fine to use any of the official graphics, let alone their company logos. Irony++, given that this is one of the complaints in the DDR vs. ITG lawsuit.

Use your heads, people.

Upon time that Roxor and/or Konami releases an official statement regarding legalities, trademark infringement (or lack thereof), patent violation (or lack thereof), or any other topic related to legalities, or upon such time a lawsuit is filed, it is not to be discussed here.

Questions regarding legalities should be addressed directly to the appropriate representives at Konami or Roxor Games, not debated here. It's been done to death already and has accomplished absolutely nothing.

I'd just like to add that I'm not personally going to lock discussions of legality, as long as they are respectful and well-tempered. Rampage is my boss so he can do as he says E1.gif.
