im not sure where id put this question but i play SM on my laptop and i got a USB keyboard b/c the arrows are too small on the laptop. Does anyone know if there is a way i can actually do hands? It was different on my old PC. No problems but the laptop wont let me do certain hand plant patterns.

I would like to know if anyone knows this as well. I have problems with a normal keyboard with doing hands/quads. And now with a new computer, it likes to be weird on VerTex^2 (expert) towards the middle with 2 freezes and the 32nd hand trill. It'll let me tap all of them for two and then only 3 for the other. Anyone here who knows how to fix pressing certain key combos?

XMaxX delivered the official ITG 2 simfiles to me. You may want to PM him about it. Otherwise, you can find a download for them from this link he posted in another thread recently.

I'm not sure if there IS a best, but I DO have one that works just fine for me on 3.9/3.95CVS, and I'm pretty sure it'll work on 4.0. Metal.zip

The problem with hitting hands is just that keyboards can only register a certain number of arrows at a time. IF you use the number pad to play you can hit all 4 at once ONLY because the number pad keys are default computer keys that have to all be hittable at once. So, unless you use the numpad or possibly the 4 arrow keys, you shouldnt be able to hit more than 4 at once, unless you have a special keyboard for it. This is also why versus usually doesn't work out.

download the stepmania CVS build. i hope thats the answer you were looking for. It come with stepmania online play. you need to register a username at stepmaniaonline.com tho' in order to actually play online.

aside from that, im going to eventually purchase an external hard drive and transfer all my music and data to it. Is there a way to configure Stepmania to access the songs from this drive?

Yes. Somewhere in stepmania.ini, i think near the top, you can enter in a directory value for "additional song folder", and stepmania will search that directory for songs.

As in,

My guess is either A.) you don't have enough RAM to run SM, or B.) you're already using too much RAM. Try quitting out of some programs that are running and try again. If all no one else can help try buying more RAM.

I want to use the ITG2 theme and it is great. Theres only one problem, when
I am in the song selection screen, the banners don't show up. This is the best theme but I don't use it because of this. Whats wrong?

Before, I copied all the songs from another computer onto a disk and put them on my computer, but it screwed up two of the songs and didn't store the complete simfiles. I got the downloads off of DDRUK and one of the songs is working just fine now, but the other song isn't. It's as if it's simply not letting me play that one song. So I tried deleting the entire song folder and downloading it again but that didn't help. Reinstalling StepMania may be my last resort.

I haven't seen any ITG2 Themes out of Beta yet, so be patient. I have one that happens to work on 3.95 (unsure with 3.9, but you could try) if you still have a copy of that. Even supports Online except showing the scores other ppl got. E-mail if you're interested, I also have a copy of the 3.95 Install.

Okay, I recently tried to edit a stepfile by adding a video to it. I can play the .avi fine in Windows Media, but when I tried to tack it on, it only showed plain black. How do I fix this?
