Nope, it isn't end of discussion. There will always be that small opinion that says home and will keep this thread alive.

+ Arcade

I always use the home versions to practice PA with on my dualshock, helps to know where a note lies in a certain rhythm before you play it at the arcade, that way you don't need to guess when you play it at the arcade. Works wonders for me often.

But I only play normally at the arcade, I only have sucky konami soft pads at home.

I prefer the Arcade.. it'll probably be reversed when my Homebrew is finished.. i cut the upper panels wrong so i need to re-cut them.

No. If it were that simple, this thread would have died 33 pages ago. Home play has its advantages over arcade play, and vice-versa.

Eh, I'd rather play the original than the port. Unless I had a homemade arcade pad. It'd go great with the JP Extreme.

Arcade all the way. I'm a member at the YMCA near my house and they just so happen to have a DDR Extreme machine set to Free Play. It's not too crowded, so I can practice and play in front of crowds. Sure beats DDR on my HDTV at home with my Ignition 3.0's (at least until I'm done with my mat)

Yeah, they also have a Guitar Freaks 7th machine and a Drummania 2nd machine, but they are currently broken, but I've been trying to get them to fix it.

Home all the way for me. I don't need people ridiculing my playing, the only machine we have is Supernova which I hate, I can play Stepmania at home so I get to play whatever songs I want. And plus I'll be getting my Flux soon, so I won't ever need to waste money in that damn machine. When I get my Flux I'll look into a computer to AV cable to use my TV with my computer for a bigger playing screen. The pads on the Supernova machines sucked anyway (around here at least).

Now, when it comes to Pump It Up, that's a different story. It's arcade all the way there.

Arcade version, no question. The home version is...er...alright, but the arcade version is the way to go! First of all, the arcade version has around 300 songs while the home version has around what? 70? Plus, I much prefer the arcade mats. It's sorta hard to hold the freeze arrows sometimes on the arcade version, but still...The arcade version wins. Plus, I love all the blinking lights and while some people may think it's annoying, I think it makes the game more fun to play. And it's actually nice having people there when they want to play...However, in my area people are rarely at the DDR. disturb.gif Eh...That could just be cause it's summer.

I have a Flux and I still play the arcade machine whenever possible, nothing beats the arcade experience.

Arcade, no question about it. But it is nice to be able to practice at home, especially if you have fluxes and a sound system riiight.gif

I used to think that console versions were better, but I think I was wrong. Arcade FTW!! Playing with a DR AC machine is very exciting. xD

i actually like playing at home. i am not all that great yet so it can be a little intimating playing at an arcade where there are tons of people around watching. at home i can set ITG on fitness mode and just play til i can't play anymore. i don't have to keep inserting money and waiting my turn to play 3 songs at a time.

and this will sound girly (i am a girl but very much a jock at the same time) but i can't stand the way it smells over there. they have ITG2 and Supernova right beside each other so there is always a mass of players over there and it reeks of sweat pretty badly. it's totally understandable, but they need to get some air freshener over there pronto.
