Well, they don't need to "scale down." They should keep expanding Expert so long as they also expand at least Hard proportionally, preferably down to Medium. I doubt anyone who plays on Easy would complain about repetetiveness.

I would rather go for a new difficulty above Expert instead of expanding difficulties. Expanding the existing difficulties would make the already steep learning curve even steeper.

If we could call it Another that would be so awesome. Actually, I kind of like it; where would the cutoff be? Something like if it's on Another it has to be at least an 11?

Weren't there alternate hard steps or expert steps on the beta machine for ITG2?

Why didn't that "feature" get implemented?

That's a good point, I always thought it was just a stepmania/edits thing =P

No, he is talking about Clockwork Genesis. Remember how there were Hard and Alt-Hard (alternate Hard) steps for Clockwork Genesis, and RoXoR did a poll between the users of ITGFreak/RoXoR's forums on which of the two should stay? The Alt-Hard steps were Edit steps, but RoXoR won't have any problem creating an entirely new difficulty tier if they wanted to. It's actually a pretty cool idea too. "Don't like Euphoria, and Hard is too easy for you? Here, have a new chart", etc.

More 13's. That difficulty needs to be WAY more fleshed out. Even DDR has more than 3 flashing 10's (lol, I think it's 4 but 4>3)

I'd also have to agree that some of the stepcharts were made by people on crack. Utopia doesn't seem to go with....anything....period. (Yes, I can beat it so don't pull the "you suck" card on me.) I think Euphoria is a bad stepchart too, but you CAN insult me on this because I CAN'T beat it.

So in summary, more 13's and less crappy rhythms that don't work

That was what I was talking about.

The gaps in the game need to be fixed. There's not much of a medium between 10's and 11's or 11's and 12's, heck not even between 8's and 9's. In between 9's and 10's there's a good selection. This means that I can beat a lot of ten's, but with the exception of Charlene (which is pretty much a ten in disguise) I can't even touhch the 11's. I die half way into them.

Also, horizontal scrolling (with one player on single would probably be the only time it'd work though)! I have always wanted to try this, I think it could make the game fun when your on a "Hey, what if... That's be insane!" whim.

More gimmick charts. By gimmick, I mean stuff like Utopia where there's some wierd thing you have to do. In Utopia you had to pretty much kill one foot off, the feature of the song I would say. It makes the song more interesting for me. I think "gimmick" charts like these can be fun. In other words, be creative and try something new.

What about being able to turn on forced mods in a song. In other words, the mods that are forced in a song in a marathon are translated to the song in normal play so you can practice the songs with mods without having to play the whole marathon.

Forced mods would suck for n00bs. Plus, anyone around here only plays speed mods and overhead as their mods. Sometimes mini or hallway when it's a song like Euphoria or Bloodrush that you want to 5x or 6x.

I think what he means is tht there would be an option to have the song play with the forced mods from X or Y marathon so you could practice those mods in just the one song. You could play it as your last song in case you fail, and your first two songs could still be played normally.

I'd like to see some form of edit bank maybe featuring the edits that were submited for that contest. I guess this would go along with the previously mentioned alternate charts idea.

That's stupid. To force mods on regular song play sort of sucks. I mean, the whole point of marations and survival, is the whole gimmick of the mods (for most of them anyways). You sort of ruin that when you try to apply it on Dance mode. What do people play if they don't want to do that stuff and want to play just for technical, like a lot of people do?

ITGFreak has an edit bank up of its users' created edits. There's also an Edit Tournament that occurs there. One just ended with BlueChaos and Hoodie (both of NorCal) winning. ;D

On another note, at NAT, KeeL announced ITG3. He also said that there are going to be some new innovations, and I assume gimmicks. Things look good, really. biggrin.gif

alot of people are bagging on machinae supremacy. come on! those guys are my faveorite part of the series.

This is the best idea on this thread. Make Pandemonium, Summer and V2 all some new difficulty, and then add two thirteens and a fourteen at that difficulty to ITG3.

Yeah, we need one fourteen in ITG3. I was hoping for some more songs songs in the style of Kagami, because that song kicks buttocks and anyone who disagrees need to shoot their dick. Also, another Disconnected remix should be on the way. I was hoping for something like Disconnected -Insomnia-, a faster, "blurrier" remix.

What the hell.

I do agree that we need harder songs but we just need more 13s. I don't think we should have 14s YET.

I'd like to see some musically themed courses in ITG3. Not more mod crazy ones, but like a relfection theory course or a KaW course or stuff like that. And instead of playing songs one after the other, each course is a mix of parts of various songs where you either play throughout for 5 or 6 minutes or have small breaks without arrows every so often during song transition. But it's one song and the music still plays... and the steps are unique to the course instead of having the same steps from the regular versions. Maybe even (some ppl will hate this) have the steps change every time you pick the course. Not radically, just some parts where you might get RUD one time and DLR another... or like some parts have an alternate rhythm, but the difficulty is generally the same.

It would be cool I guess to show the bpm of a song on the screen while you play, in a little bubble or something at the bottom center. Just for tempo changes and freezes etc you can see it rise and fall and you know exactly what the speed is. It's just minor things like this which make ITG cooler than DDR.

I don't want to see Kyle Ward go nuts and take over ITG3's songlist with 143 new fruity loops creations. ITG2s songlist is pretty much awesome - let's keep it that way by maining a good balance of genres with new dance, some euro maybe, jazz breakbeat r&b epic trance whatever. Liscenced songs ftw.
