Ok I really need to know this because it's making me lose. I think I saw it randomly somewhere but I can't find it. How do you make it so it will let you hit more than 2 buttons?

Sorry to double post but I found another problem with it. While I'm playing suring a song if I hold down the right arrow it won't let me press the left arrow. I've look through all the menus and such to try and find a different setting or something but nothing works.

Go into the options menu, and under "Input Options," turn "Ignore Joystick Axes" (or something like that) On. That should solve your problem.

Thanks for the help but I can't find a single option anywhere that looks like that. Think you could be more specific?

Again sorry for the double post, but can someone tell me how do you save files as .CRS? I can't find any way to save them. And where do you put the finished .CRS file? Like do you have to put it in a specific folder in the StepMania folder or what?

In order to save a file as .crs you frst put the text into notepad. When you select save you have to change save as type to all files and when selecting the file name just add .crs to the end of it. As far as where to put it I believe you have a folder named courses. Now I think that you have to create a folder in this folder and save the files in there but I'm not too sure about that last part.

Is there a way to make it so a song has more than one cd title? For example i want to use the song Ghosts with steps i edited. I want the DANCE MANIA BEST OF WORLD TRANCE -FANTASIA- icon to appear as well as my own personal icon i have. How would i go about setting this up?

You'd probably have to 'Shop an icon that was a combination of the two you're trying to get to appear...I seriously doubt that you can get two seperate CD titles to appear.

Man thats what i thought only because i looked at the cd titles i had and one of them was titled Drumania & guitar freaks, not each seperate. O well. Thanx anyways.

Okay, my dad got a new hard drive and transferred all the files to it, and now SM doesn't work anymore, but I installed DirectX and the newest driver (which previously worked with SM), and it still doesn't run. The exact error message is:
There was an error while initializing your video card.

PLEASE DO NOT FILE THIS ERROR AS A BUG!

Video Driver: Intel(R) 82810-DC100 Graphics Controller

Initializing OpenGL...
Your system is reporting that OpenGL hardware acceleration is not available. Please obtain an updated driver from your video card manufacturer.

Initializing Direct3D...
Your system is reporting that Direct3D hardware acceleration is not available. Please obtain an updated driver from your video card manufacturer.

Please help me.

Will my keyboard break if I all I keep playing are the hard songs? Can Step Mania damage my keyboard if I play too much? Just wondering...

DDRKid2772: Wrong thread. Check here.

staroceanfreakx: Try reinstalling the program from the website. The only thing I can think of is that SM is looking for the drivers in their location on the old drive (based on registry or data file entries). Have you been having trouble with any other DirectX-enabled programs?

DJ Zodiac: Unless you are incredibly hard-fingered, no. Considering the beating they can withstand from programmers typing millions of lines of code, I'm pretty sure their designed to handle quite a bit of wear and tear E15.gif . I've certainly never heard of anyone's keyboard buttons breaking from too much SM, but then I don't know everything.

believe me, it has happened...only on my friend's laptop though. his up arrow completely snapped off. the sensor still worked fine though, so all he needed to do was get a new key.

it isn't likely that an actual standard desktop keyboard will break from SM though.

Ok, thanks. I just needed some assurance that it wouldn't break. I had some people telling me my keyboard would break if I continue playing a lot.

Looks like I have my work cut out for me, eh? Well, here we go...

DDRNemesis: If these animations are song specific, they should be in the song's folder. If they are applied to all song, you need to put them in the random animations folder. Also, you should check the song's background change info in SM's song editor. If you still can't figure it out, ask again.

Shenjoku777: There's nothing you can do to fix this, save for editing your keyboard driver yourself (bad idea, unless you know code), or testing different drivers. Some computers will let you do quads (more than two keys at a time), some won't. I'm just glad mine does. They're fun! As for the left-right arrow problem...that's just really strange. You shouldn't be having that problem. Anyone else here getting that?

Dancing Dan: There's NO WAY (to my knowledge) that you can have more than one CD Title animation. You're best off just using one, really. Less hastle.

DDRKid2772: Try Bemanistyle and DDRUK. Those two are the best. Also, ask in the Get DWI/SM Here thread, in the simulation forum.

StarOcean (the one I came here for ;) ): You shouldn't be having this problem. Have you reinstalled the drivers/software for your video card? That could be the problem. Since you have the newest version of DirectX, that's not the problem. Try backing up all of your songs/courses/arrow skins/profiles, deleting SM COMPLETELY, and reinstalling it (preferably the newest version). If THAT doesn't work...I have no idea. Do the challenges on your friend's computer :b

DJ Zodiac: I play things like Karma, Gravity, Cynic, Reincarnation (Another), Traces Oni, Act Oni, and the like on a daily basis. The 14-foot Blur has also been played many times on my board (although, not passed). If you're playing on a standard keyboard, then no. The only damage you could possibly cause is rubbing off the paint on the keys (which I have yet to do...the left, down, and right keys are fading, but that up key is a sumnabiatch).

::sits back, sips his drink, clicks outta here::

Edit: Fixed. I feel so dumb. It was in control panel--> display --> settings --> advanced --> performance. I for some reason had the hardware acceleration set to none instead of full.
