E10.gif Ah ok. That one guy was very good freestyling by the way xD.

How was Saber Wing by the way? Both musically and stepchart wise.

Saber Wing... Fun =) There were pauses in it, but not like Chaos. I'm sure after a few times I could probably get used to it, maybe pull an A off. The song, well, personally I thought it was cool =) It does sound kind of like something from a Gradius game.

And if you want to see freestyle, hell... man, I should have had my camera going later that evening. They have an SN2 cab outside the arcade with external speakers wired up and everything, really nice for crowd gathering, a bench for players waiting to play... totally a place for DDR showoffs to come, and just before I left I got to see a pretty badass guy do some stuff. Unfortunately it didn't occur to me to record until he was all but done! *kicks self* Really, the guy on the DDR X cab was so-so comparitively, though I give some props for throwing in the handplant. =)

Pie~: Um, I just checked the videos, and there's a problem: you only got the first 15 seconds of each. The 3GPP2 file format, under VLC, only plays the first 15 seconds. Many other players are also subject to this. Quicktime plays them in full, though.

I'll see about making a conversion later, and if you could youtube -those- ones, that'd be great. As is, you're missing a -lot-; video #3 was like 4 minutes or so!

Gimme 24 hours please; kind of busy at the moment cleaning my apartment. riiight.gif

Vultaire are you going back to this location? it was said that the middle circle is an iPod like scroll wheel for the song wheel. can you try this out at the location?

dasbacon:
#1. Video is unavailable.
#2. The location test has been over for about a week and a half now; it's gone. I'm unaware of any ipod-like scroll wheel for song selection, though... There were 4 buttons on the cab itself, left and right changed categories and up and down went through the songs, if I recall right.

Everyone:
I can't find a converter for 3gpp2 to avi or similar that does NOT clip the vids at 15 seconds. This is an issue with FFMpeg (used by most of these converter programs) which I don't think has been resolved yet. I'm no guru, but can anyone else try to convert the vids and see if you can get them in a full length, youtube-uploadable format?

3gpp2 is different, but that being said, since QT can play them in full, probably QT Full can convert them. I don't have it, nor am I going to get it - in my opinion the videos -are- out and people can see them somehow. That's all my personal goal was.

If no one else can "acquire" QT Full and convert the vids properly, maybe adding a link to this thread to the youtube vids would be good enough? E1.gif

Ahh, excellent. Thanks dasbacon!

At this point I'm retiring from this thread, and hopefully I won't have found my e-amusement account to be revoked or something the next time I go to play. E10.gif Thanks everyone!

I remember a survey a while ago asking what we would like to see in a new DDR release and it looks like Konami actually listened to what people said

*bump*

am-net reports that the machine is slated for a Jan. 2009 release. The cab will cost around $18,000. To compare, SN and SN2 cabs are $15,000. UPGRADE KITS WILL BE AVAILABLE. Their prices will be reported soon.
