Someone's never used a Cobalt Flux.

I like my Cobalt Flux more than anything, but who are you supposed to show off to with that?

Arcade. I don't like the homepad that can't even tell that I am stepping on the arrows.

IT's fun both ways! But At the arcade it is best because there are people who can see you play and then you can get better while playing with better people.

I like to play at the arcade, and just relax and play controller at home. I know, it's a sin to play controller, but oh well.

Arcade all the way. Only because when u step on the arrows they actually respond! biggrin.gif I dunno when i used to go from home to arcade i found myself stepping short of the up and down arrows at home. I guess because there is a bigger center in the home version. Thats y i never use my soft home pad anymore frown.gif Although what ive been hearin about Flux i might change my mind

You get used to that after a while. I know - I hated it at first, too. But after a while, I stayed on the arrows without having to look down or anything.

Also, a Metal Pad fixes this problem if you don't feel like getting used to soft pads

I have a CF pad at home, and I love it, but it doesn't begin to compare to the arcade. It's like sex with a condom. Sure, it's great, but it's just not the same.

Right now I prefer playing at home, because I can play all I want for free, there's no lines, thanks to Stepmania I have a bigger song selection than I would in the arcade, and there's no one there to laugh at how hard I suck.

I like playing in the arcade because I have more songs to choose from, but I HATE the #(@$'n trick bar. It completely gets in my way and the back of my feet will hit it and mess me up. I wish they'd take those things off the pads in the arcade. That way it wouldn't screw me up AND it'd keep some people from rapefully abusing the bar.

Another thing thats not as good about arcade (but this will vary by location) is that you can never hear the music as good as you would be able to at home on nice speakers. For a $5000 arcade machine, you'd think they could put some REALLY high quality speakers in it (like bose or something). I honestly think the speakers on every DDR machine ive seen aren't that great. And paired with the excessive background noise found in most arcades, the arcade DDR music experience isn't all that great.

If your feet are hitting the bar, then you aren't on the pad, and you've got bigger problems.
