I'm just wondering. Ever since I first para'd in Toronto, I love the game. A lot. So, if it is dead, it'd explain why there's only 1 home version on ps2. Someone give me the verdict straight up |

Maybe it just doesn't have a big enough fan base.
I like para para. but i guess it's over for PPP. _________________

PPP's gone really, except it still has it's fans every here and there. But there are still a lot of fans of the actual para para dancing now, go to www.paraparastage.com and you'll see. Now people look at it as less a game and something more than that, kinda like the Japanese. But it is rumoured Avex is going to try and bring Para Para back in Japan, with a new generation PPA. It was on a note in their latest SEB so you never know what might happen, but what we have now is still good, so don't worry... _________________

I don't know how much faster people can flail their arms to songs, I mean Ultra High Heels and Velfarre 2000 at Hard are already too fast for some people to handle. A new mix would be nice but I'm not getting my hopes up. |

it could be VERY easy, but they won't be doing proper para para dancing, kinda like using your feet and hands on DDR... _________________

I actually got in to ParaParaParadise when I first played at Milpitas GolfLand.I've loved it since.Right now ever though they only have a 2nd mix...I still play and am trying to get better.I'm trying to learn the dances for the songs.Right now I've got down Ultra High Heels and most of Velfarre 2000.They're not that hard for me to play as in the speed.Basically the game of ParaPara has died, but never the dance! There will always be die-hard players and dancers that will still do the dances and play the game. _________________

2nd was the last version of PPP they released.

Actually if it is dead, then you could say the same thing about DDR, but wait, forums on the net are filled up with people that play DDR, so you ever thought to think the same thing might happen for para para?
www.paraparastage.com is the most popular out there but there quite a few as well as the PPP board at DDR: UK (if you live there).
There are Para Para groups and meets all over the place in America, even a few in the UK, and the machines are still scattered around all over the place. I mean come on, compare it to Taiko No Tatsujin, Dance ManiaX, Guitar Freaks or Mambo a Go Go and it's booming...
Plus, you don't have to stop at the arcade machine/game too, the VCDs and SEBs are all out there still getting released, and in Avex's latest SEB they pointed out they where trying for a para para revival in Japan with a whole new PPA. Avex was the reason we found out about Para Para in the first place so if they put their minds to it, para para will become a fad again in Japan (its happened millions of times, the people over there care about para para in general than PPP the game...). _________________

The whole point of trying to capitalize on a "dance fad" didnt go the way konami had intended. Sure PPP was fun... but when you can pretty much do every single routine within a week of purchasing it, it gets real OLD real QUICK. PPP failed as a release and therefore Konami canned it to prevent the aspect of future losses. (DDRMAX2 CS anyone?) I mean i used to think "Hell this has SEB in it. It cant POSSIBLY get old". My friend's copy sits on the floor collecting dust.
PPP is indeed dead. There are the dvds which are in no relation to the game. Those will go on so long as there are the Para Para Allstars but as far as the games go.. its done for. _________________

if it's dead then why do people still play it? Plus, there's the fact that everybody usually freestyles when playing the game too, which it does encourage. The routines are fun, but I usually do freestling on the game, which is a breath of fress air to be honest. And they didn't can it too quick, what with 4 different versions being released, then a home version.
Plus, a revival is rumoured. As I said before, compare to other arcade games out there and it's doing really well... _________________
